My parents made spicy meatballs, and my other sister brought barbeque meatballs.
Yet another sister brought different types of dips with crackers.

My oldest sister was still at the bar when my family left my parents.

I'm doing a lasagna and salad for tomorrow!! That's our Christmas day meal. Tamales are going to be our traditional Christmas eve meal. It was a huge success!

Boiled shrimp for me It is my family's tradition to always have some type of shrimp on Christmas Eve. We had my DH's family Christmas yesterday and I made both italian suasage lasagne and plain cheese lasagne...I must say I did a good job....it was D-lish. My family is down in SC and they had the traditional ham meal yesterday. I got to hear about it on the phone.

I didn't know tamales were a traditional Christmas Eve thing. That sounds good, though! I'm at work so I just had Taco Bell. I'm glad it was still open!

Ah, yes-around here, Christmas tamales are very popular. Many small stores put out signs suggesting you order your Christmas tamales from them. Then on the 12th day, there's that round bread with the baby Jesus baked into it, and whoever gets the Baby has to host a party. What's that bread called-I think it starts with an "R"? I don't like tamales, but the New Years Eve bunelos, now there's a tradition I can get into! DS had a friend whose family always got together and made Bunelos on New Years eve. Warm, crispy, covered with cinamon sugar-Mmmmmm!

I tried to buy some tamales today at Trader Joes, but the lines were sooooo long that I'm sure people are still there & aren't getting out of the store till Dec 26. I wanted to slip them into my friend's gift bag. She's Hispanic & loves tamales.

YUMMMY I wish we had tamales!!! I'm going to learn how to make them for next year. We usually get ours from a smokehouse west of Houston on 59.. We had a cajun chicken breast stuffed with home made sausage. Tonight we have filets of the grill. Can't wait
