So, just curious did anyone go see Toby Keith since his tour started about 2 weeks ago in NJ?

My son has been on this tour w/ his dad. I thought this was HUGE that he was getting to go-- and I thought he'd have so much fun, and see so much. His father is a musician and is playing in the "opening-opening" band. Anyhow, he was supposed to be gone for the whole summer- aside from an approx 2 week break they have coming up this week and next.

Anyhow, he called me last night to tell me that when they come home for break this week he's going to stay home. I was shocked. He said he's been really bored. He said the "thrill" of having full access behind the scenes wore off quickly. He said it's just too much time driving from 1 concert to the next.

Now, I'm excited he's coming home-- it was a really hard decision for me to let my baby go for the whole summer. I'm just truly shocked that he found all this boring. I thought it would be such an experience.

I guess he said maybe the last 2-3 weeks of the tour when they're playing more in the Northeast he'll go back w/ them....but for now he's had enough.

My ex got us tickets to the Cleveland show and my dh and I traveled there to see them-- and my son seemed to be having a blast. Oh well, I guess w/ 16 yr olds the novelty wears off quickly.

My husband isn't a musician, but is a production manager in the music industry. From the hanging out stand point it is boring. The only time my kids like going is when they can drive a golf cart or if there is something to do like play air hockey or arcade games. Once in a while they like to see a concert, but not too often, but if it was the same show day after day, nope they'd be whining to go home.

He got home at about 2am-- I didn't get to talk to him much. He called about midnight to say that they were getting close and make sure he could get in. Unfortunately, I have to work today so I got up long enough to give him hugs and tell him we'd talk for sure when I got home today.
