did anyone get the email about the DVC Referral for "DVC PHONE TOUR"

I got an email basically telling me that if I refer friends to take the DVC "phone tour" the friend and I would both receive a $25 Disney gift card. I did have a few friends who called - they all had different, not so positive results with the process -

1. the person answering had no idea what she was talking about with the referral info.

2. another was told that the person she needed to talk to was not available - please call back

3. another was told that DVC would call her back and they never did

Did anyone else get the email? It gave a toll free number to call and said to give the member's name, state, and guide's name.

I am baffled that all three friends called and got a different response - none of which led to the phone tour or a $25 gift card. ????????????????

This is a promotion for folks who have not toured. The email requests they call and request a Phone Tour to be set up with your Guide (you need to provide them with your Guide's name).

If they have previously toured, and therefore are assigned a Guide, it appears that the promotion would not be available in that case.

The email was just sent this past Tuesday, so I would imagine it will take some time to set up the appointments with your Guide. I would definitely give it some time.

My friends who called had my guide's name. The email wasn't clear that they needed to speak to her. It just said to provide her name.

I will let them know that they have to ask for her.

It is a shame that DVC makes this promo difficult to carry out . . . .

they sent out this promotiona while back too. I ahd a few friends call and I never got my gift card or heard anything and neither have my friends. They talked to my guide originally and he said he would call them back but didn't and when I called to ask, he said they were supposed to call him wiht questions and that they never gave him the code that got us the gift cards. Something went wrong somewhere and it didn't work. I am still waiting for him to correct at least to of these "phone tours" and get my gift card.

Couple of years ago I got two of these $25 cards from friends doing a "phone tour". I had never heard of before that.
