Did anyone else see the crash at Lights Motors Action?

My family was at Lights Motors Action last week when one of the stunt motorcycles crashed into one of the black cars. He was thrown from the motorcycle, and it landed on top of him. Obviously, the show was cancelled. It was absolutely surreal. Everyone was completely silent and didn't know quite what to do. I was wondering if anyone else was there and if there have been any updates on the condition of the rider? The accident happened during the portion of the show where the motorcyclist catches on fire at the end of the scene. However, the accident happened soon after the "good guy" crashed through the window. It was so bizarre.

I didn't see the crash, but there have been a couple since the show opened. I guess it is just the nature of the beast.

We were there. The crash happened on Saturday October 8th during the 1st show. I also would like to know if there are any updates. My daughter and SIL returned on Sunday and saw the complete show so the show did
go on . Not sure about the condition of the rider who crashed was.

We were there! Everything was fine. Thr guy got up and walked away. They had to shut the show down, because fuel had spilled out and had to be cleaned up right away. Car also had to be towed out. They probably also want to figure out what went wrong. It was diffenitly a reminder that it's a real stunt show and anything can happen. Thankfully everyone was OK!

I, too, was told that the show had to be shut down only because of the gas spill. However, I didn't really buy into that theory as the sole reason for the cancellation. The cast member also said that the driver was "fine" and that he was so padded that he couldn't be hurt seriously. I saw the driver walk off. However, adrenaline can often allow people to continue to function for a short while. I just kind of felt that the cast member that I talked to went overboard trying to convince me that everything was alright. She even went so far as to say that the guys were probably in the back high fiving one another. We had a really good view of the crash, and it just didn't look as minor as we were led to believe it was.

as a motorcyclist who also rides dirt bikes and have taken NUMEROUS spills, i can tell you that it was painful. No matter how much saftey gear that you are wearing ( i always wear it all ) its going to hurt. Broken bones most likely not if he walked off. Bruises and the like oh yes. Im sure hes laughing about it now though. Thats all you really can do.

We saw it too, and it was quite a bad crash, IMHO. We did see the driver get up and walk out (the driver of the 'hero' cycle immediately stopped and helped him up), and like others, we had CM's assuring us that he'd be fine (DD was really worried and kept asking every CM she saw). But I saw how hard he hit, and I think it was quite possible he was substantially injured, though I hope not. Thank heavens he was wearing a helmet.

If anyone 'in the know' does have any updates, I'd definitely like to know.

Wow, this reminds me of an incident that occurred at Universal when I was there in 95. A child (about 10?) looked like he was either having a siezure or choking (i think he was choking). He looked in really bad shape and the parents were yelling and screaming. One of us ran for an employee, and they whisked him away to first aid. We followed along (it was close by) but they went in and we never saw them again. I was really upset; I honestly thought this kid was going to die.We stopped back at first aid later because I wanted to know that he ended up okay (I was sick about it all day). However, the CM pretended not to know about it, and just said Oh, I'm sure he's fine. I took his word for it, but this thread just reminded me about it. Now I'm not so sure.

Do they tell us everything's fine just so our vacation isn't "ruined"? I wonder what they told people on MS after that 4 year old was taken away...

Not sure if it was just because it was so hot when I saw the show in August, but I'd say that was 30 of the most boring minutes of my life.

I know a lot of the guys and gals at LMA, when I am over there Sunday I will check and see if he is ok. LMA was running on the 9th, but I know they have a lot of Drivers so they could have been using subs. I'll ask Sun and email a couple pple too, I'll let you know if I hear anything.

I saw a wreck when we were there last week but it wasn't the one you were talking about. It was when a black car got a flat and just stopped and the red car ran in to the side of him. They changed out the tire and went on with the show, then it got rained out so I missed the flaming motorcycle (my kids saw it though as we were going for cover :)

Unfortunately, in today's world, it's probably more self-protection. They don't have anyway of knowing if you're a lawyer for the family trying to gather incriminating information by catching a castmember off-guard. I worked many years in the service industry and we were always instructed to say that we weren't at liberty to discuss other guests...

And when it started raining... and I mean pouring and raining very hard, they were still trying to do the show, and people were nuts running up the steps and out of the stands. I thought someone was going to get trampled. I was surprised CM's weren't doing anything about it.

RatPack, I saw your family in Disney last week... I recognized those cool shirts. Did you make them yourselves? They are great!

Yep, we had our poncho's on so I made my kids sit there for a moment while the screaming herd went past and then we filed out in an orderly fashion LOL I could just see the front pages, viewers trampled as rain came pouring down....ugghh!
