Did anyone else notice that the monorail smelled funny? & crammed too many people in

I couldn't believe the smell on the monorail all week while we were in wdw...

it smelled like a hospital......

also, is it safe how they cram a ton of people in each car?? we were squooshed!

I always thought they smelled like manure! Everytime we ride the monorail I feel like I just stepped into a barn.

I had actually sent an e-mail to guest relations complaining about the monorail smell back in May. Almost every car we rode in had a very strong odor which reminded me of cat pee. It was awful. I wonder if the "hospital" smell you describe is some type of deodorizer.

I have thought the Monorails smelled like a barn for a bit now..Once posted here on it and was told it was due to the fact so many ride the Monorails!! However, they smell that way first thing in the morning too, so it must be a cleaning agent they use....Must be OLD MCDONALD HAD A FARM Scent...

I read on a thread here that the manure smell had something to do with glue that was used on the floors.

I figure they use the monorails at night to move cattle. Sure smells like it.

The smell comes from the glue that they use when replacing the carpet..it takes a VERY long time for the smell to go away!!!!!! It was much stronger when they first replaced it!!!!!!!!!

must be VERY VERY VERY long, cause I remember it smelling last year and last time we went in September it still smelled like manure.

I was there this past weekend and it definitely still smelled like a barn! We have always wondered why it smelled that way. Mystery solved!

LOL, when we were there in August I told DH I thought the monorail smelled like manure! He said I was imagining things, and that it just smelled like sweaty people.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one who detected a manurey odor...

My sister is 2 1/2 mo pregnant and we all leave next week! She claims certain smells are really affecting her with this pregnancy.
Lovely time we'll have riding the monorail...................

LOL...my DH complained it smelled too but I didn't smell anything either!! Hmmm....guess we are the few lucky ones!
