I was at the DL Resort that week and ended up with a very bad GI infection. It may be related to the US salmonella outbreak, given my symptoms.

Did anyone else experience problems around the end of May, beginning of June?

I went on June 3rd and my son got sick 2 days later - vomiting about 6 times that morning, and then he was fine.

I don't think he had any tomatoes that day, but he did have a lot of chocolate milk because it was his birthday, and that's what I attributed it to. ;)

I'm so sorry you get sick!

Nope, we were there the 7th & 8th and no issues with us.

I was there June 4th-7th and had no problems, but I don't care much for tomatoes so that may have contributed. And drinking lots of chocolate milk and touring Disney don't mix. My little sister did the same thing in WDW 2 years ago.

I was there May 31 - June 6 and didn't get sick, and oddly enough I can say I had a raw tomato almost every day due to my favorite sandwhich at La Brea.

For whatever the reason I am so sorry you were sick!!

We were there on the 6th, and I got very sick from my dinner at storytellers. My wife was fine though with her pizza she had. I had the filet and veggies and potatoes and about 5 hours later, Sick sick sick!

We were there the 1-7th, and no we didn't get sick.

I ate tomatoes at the Rainforest Cafe on Monday too, I found out the next day about the outbreak. I know I worried for 72 hours about getting sick, especially since I'm at a higher risk of complications from such a thing (from having Crohn's Disease). But I was fine thankfully.

Sorry to hear you were ill, that is just the worst things to get too.

My dd got sick on June 4th but I think it was from not eating enough of a breakfast and then riding Space Mountain. She had a terrible headache after coming off SM. I tried to get her to eat some lunch. She nibbled a couple pieces of pretzel. Begged for some medicine so we took her to First Aid to get Tylenol. She took that and within 20 minutes she threw up just as we were trying to exit the gates to go back to our room so she could rest.

She fell asleep in the room and when she woke up all was good. I made sure the rest of the trip that she ate before we attempted any rides.

So, tomatoes didn't do it just good old SM on an empty stomach and then Tylenol on an empty stomach.

I was there May 31st to June 8th. Did not get sick at all.

I was a bit worried since I ate tomatoes during the trip but I never got sick at all.

We were there during that week and no one got sick. dd5 did complain a bit about her stomach not being 100% all the time for a bit, but I think it was just too much rides and excitement. I know we (not her) did eat tomatoes before we heard about the scare - no problems.
Sorry you weren't well - no way to end a Disney vacation.

at first I was going to say no. We were at Disney June 5 - 11. Then on the 11th we drove to Sea World and my younger dd threw up on the way. Guess it could have been from food at Disney, but it was only that once and she throws up once on every trip just because. It's a tradition of hers I guess.

Why don't you report it to the Orange County Health Dept? Then, they can piece together whether there was a problem.

Thankfully we stayed healthy and well, but we were there from June
9th through the 13th and I was a little nervous because I actually came across several SICK people. Yuck, yuck, yuck. I feel so bad for anyone who gets sick on vacation, but it did give me the heebie jeebies! The first encounter was that I was in a stall in the bathroom next to someone who was obviously throwing up. I didn't stick around to figure out any more...
Another day I saw a child throwing up outside the gates of DL (boy). But the cake was when my DD and I were about to get in a Pirates of the Carribean boat and in the last row there was vomit all over the floor. I told the CM girl who was loading the boat and she moved us up a few rows, but the whole ride I was grossed out and wondering why I didn't ask to wait for the next boat. When we got out, they loaded a whole new group of people in there and the kids sitting in there didn't even notice. I told another CM and he got a flashlight out to inspect...this is when I left. I don't know what they did about it, but they could seem to care less.
Makes you wonder.....that is why I tell my kids no shoes in the house and wash hands, wash hands, wash hands! (I am a little germ freakish!)

We were there June 3-7 and didn't get sick either. We ate at Rainforest Cafe, Goofy's Kitchen, Redd Rocket's Pizza Port, Blue Bayou, and The Golden Horseshoe. DH ate tomatoes a couple times on our trip as well. Sorry you got sick.
