Did any of you attend this elem.school in MA?

Hi,

My husband and I found out years ago that he and I were in the same 1st grade class at Pawtucketville Memorial School in Lowell, Massachusetts back in 1974.

He had moved to Lowell from Brooklyn, NY finished that year and moved to NH. I stayed in MA and eventually moved to NH where we met as teenagers. We both remember the teachers name, it started with a B and sounded like "Bagooing".

Neither his parents or mine can find our class picture of 1974.

Are their any fellow students of this school out here on the DIS with a class picture? I know it's a long shot, but I must try...I called the school last year and they didn't return my call about it.

We'd really love to see ourselves back then...it would be fun to show our kids too.

Any help or advice would be great!

No, but have you joined Classmates.com? You can lists ALL the schools you attended, not just your graduating high school.

I was able to include my email address in the bio section you get as a FREE member. I an NOT a paying member.

Perhaps you could somehow work your picture request & email into your bio?

They also have a message board (per school) - but it's not visited frequently. It still wouldn't hurt to try.

I didn't go to that school but I live in Lowell! (What a small world!)
I'd definitely try Classmates.com...it's worth a shot!

Thank you both SplshMtn99 and NurseKim. I did register with Classmates after your post. Hopefully, I'll be able to find someone out there who can help.

NurseKim - yes, funny how it's a small world. I was born and raised in Lowell. I spent much time at LGH back in '99 with my mother who went from cardiac rehab (valve replacement) to ICU (stroke while doing rehab) to the TCU (these employees were amazing up there)...thankfully, we were in the hospital when the 1st stroke occured. I still go to Lowell once a week to see her at her house...

My DH attended Whitman (sp) part of his HS years. Does that count?

My DH suggests that you go to the school and check their library. Our school district keeps all of those pictures on file. Good luck!

Yes, classmates and visit the school definitely if you can.

You can also do an internet search for school reunion message boards. I have one on ezboards.com. Be sure to search for the high school that you would have gone to had you stayed there. The HS will be more likely to have a website or people on classmates, etc.

That's a pretty nifty story!

excellent advice ladies, thank you so much. I will definitely try calling the school or visiting and I'll continue my search on the net too.

Wish me luck I'm trying to get it before christmas to surprise DH.

Karen: Did your husband go to school in Whitman, MA? That would be Whitman-Hanson Reg. H.S. That's where I graduated from.

I know from Karen B's Flat Stanley project that her DH DID grow up in Whitman, so probably went to WH. He was asking if Stanley could have his picture taken at King's Castle Land. I responded back then that KCL was VERY sad and dilapidated. The dragon had no head, the castle was falling down, etc.

Now...they are building a new Super Stop and SHop there. Oh how things have changed.
