Diamonds Are A Girls Best Friend Tour - Nov/Dec 2015.

QUOTE="momtohms, post: 53910917, member: 436077"]Following along! Love the Sue & Laura days idea (I really want to take my girls on a mother/daughter trip when they are older and I'll have to remember that!) and I'm SO jealous of your itinerary! We did 6 park days (or partial days) on our trip to DL recently and I was still wishing for more :-D[/QUOTE]

Hi and thanks for joining in:)
We do love our Sue and Laura days. They are so spontaneous and we always have so much fun. Plus, it gives me the opportunity to ride Haunted Mansion as many times as I like in a row without the guilt trip! And we are feeling so so lucky to have so many park days. The trip report will be a big one:thumbsup2

Wow! I can hardly wait t hear more!

Will be making regular posts now so stay tuned!

Sounds like a great trip so far. I know what you mean having a 18yo and last trips. Im planning a mom and daughter trip to DL march into april 2016. She will be a senior and Im totally surprising her. We have been to.WDW over 15 times so time to venture to the west coast

Hello and welcome!
A surprise trip will be just fabulous. It really is such a wonderful thing to spend time with just the two of you. So many memories:goodvibes
I'm sure I'll get to WDW one day, but Disneyland has, and always will, have my heart.

can not wait for more information. Does this mean your dates have changed?

Hi there:wave2:
Our dates have changed slightly - arrive November 14th and depart December 3rd. I think we should still be there when you arrive which will be great!

Prior to your trip, in early November in the U.S., there are websites that start to post the Black Friday ads of a lot of the stores. It really helps when planning your shopping. A lot of sales have started to show up on Thanksgiving itself, too.

Walmart is always a mad house. But I have found Target to be much more manageable.

The actual official Black Friday ads come out in the Thanksgiving newspapers.

Hi and thanks so much for the advice! Laura is just so keen to go shopping on Black Friday so any tips and information we can get from our American friends will be great! I'm thinking we will have to get up early??!!

Yes! Some Black Friday deals start at midnight. I've found that Black Friday is more manageable when you know exactly what you're looking for and what store to get it in. Items that are "door busters" tend to get sold out within the first hour of the sale starting. Be sure to save your receipts for customs when you leave the US, just in case you end up having to pay any duty fees or taxes.

Black Friday shopping usually has GREAT sales on clothing, electronics, and toys. Since it will then be soon winter (cold temps) in the US, you'll find cold weather clothing.

That's a great time to visit the parks!!

Hi and thanks so much for coming along:wave2:
We love spending as much time at the parks as we possible can. I worked out the other day that over the 4 trips we have done to the USA so far and then adding in this trip, I will clock up 100 day spent in the parks!!! Might not seem a whole lot for some, but for us coming from Australia, I think that's a pretty good effort! I would go every day if I could::yes::
The Sue and Laura days are great! You never know where we will end up!!!

Wow! I can hardly wait t hear more!

I will be putting the itinerary up soon. Just need to get Laura to herself for 5 minutes ( you know what teenagers are like ) and I will have a pretty good idea of what's doing when. Will tweak it when the park hours come out which we are a while away from yet. I really wish Disneyland would release their hours earlier...................it would make it soooooooooooo much easier for the international traveler!!!:snail:

Hi there:wave2:
Yes, we are REALLY looking forward to this trip. It's starting to get very real now. You will love the time spent with your daughter on your mother/daughter trip. And for it to be a surprise will add another special element. There is something just so very special about sharing the trip together, I feel very very fortunate that I get to do it again:love: She has my love of Disneyland too...............love that girl to bits:lovestruc

Dates are 14th November through 3rd December so we should get to see you again:thumbsup2

Hi there and thanks so very much for the tips! It's all very new for us and we on;y know about Black Friday shopping from what we see on TV!. We have been shopping plenty in the USA, but nothing like what I am expecting is anything like the Black Friday bonanza! We do love Target in the USA, so much better than here!!! I have only ever been to a Walmart once. I will be sure to pick up the newspapers ( have added that to my list of things to do:thumbsup2 )

A lot of times the sales get leaked on the internet too.

I will keep my eyes peeled! :surfweb:

Hello out there.......... :wave2:

Not sure if anyone is still with me, but thought it was time for an update! A few changes again but the dates remain the same!!!

So, flying in on Saturday 14th November and we arrive at LAX at 6.30am. Instead now though of going straight to Anaheim, we are making a little detour! Now we have a few hours before our next flight which leaves at 10:50am to.................San Francisco!!!
I was a little bit upset because we couldn't get to WDW but there was one other thing that I have always wanted to do but never had the chance. The Walt Disney Family Museum in San Francisco is somewhere I have been longing to go. ::yes::
For those who have not read my previous trip reports, I am obsessed with Disneyland and it's creator. So much so I have a whole room dedicated to both in my home.........everything from plates, books, art, figurines.........well, you get the picture!
So, I thought it would be a great opportunity to see the museum. We arrive around 12.30 and will get a shuttle to the hotel. We will have been travelling for well over 24 hours by that stage, so I am thinking we will probably have a shower and maybe head down to pier 39 for a wander.
I hate jetlag, so we will try to keep ourselves awake so we can get the body clocks adjusted!

Next day ( after we have a good nights rest ) we will head out and about. Then we have the whole day on the Monday to do some more exploring. We have been to San Francisco before , so won't be doing Alcatraz again but I would like to get some nice shots of the bridge. I didn't have my good camera last trip so here's hoping the weather will be kind! Union square and a cable car ride or 2 are a must!

Tuesday 17th we fly into SNA and arrive mid morning. Will get to the hotel, check in and we all know where will be for the rest of the day and night!!!! I have purchased our annual passes already so will need to turn the paper into plastic and we will be set! it will be straight to the Haunted Mansion to visit with Hattie!!!

Then, we will in Anaheim until December 3rd.

Oh and one more thing before I go.................did I mention this happened..............

DOUBLE DIGIT DANCE!!!!! :dancer: 98 sleeps to go!!!!!:jumping1:

Congrats on double digits! Nice that you get to squeeze in a San Francisco stop. I kept thinking I would go up there to see the WDFM when I visited my brother ... who is now moving back to China. Maybe I'll see it someday when they are back for a visit.

Yay, for SF! I live right across the bridge and still have not been to the Disney Family Museum. Your trip sounds like it is going to be amazing!
