Diamond Lanes - Carpool Lanes?

I need some help from CA natives please! I know in CA there are carpool lanes/diamond lanes on the freeways. What exactly constitutes a carpool? We do not have those lanes here in Michigan. We are heading to DL for the Disneyana Convention and will be renting a car to do some sightseeing, etc. There will be 2 of us in the car - does that count? Any info is greatly appreciated!

Yes, on most freeways that have a carpool lane, a carpool consists of two or more in the car. There is one freeway that requires three or more, but that is north of the Disneyland area. Enjoy!
