Just was playing around with dining adr's for NEXT week and this came up for dinner buffet. Anyone know what they serve and if it is yummy?? They had lots of openings for Next wed/thurs. dinner. Any insight into this mysterious dinner buffet. Would be very convenient to have another option in the MK. Leaving the park to eat takes up precious park time in this busy season

The reason you probably can't find much information is because the Diamond Horseshoe is open seasonally and usually only opens as a quick service restaurant during lunch and a buffet for dinner as an alternative when the park gets really busy. I've heard the food on the buffet is very close to the food at Liberty Tree Tavern like roasted turkey breast, carved beef and smoked pork. Try calling Dining Reservations and see if they have a menu available. If it were me, I'd make the reservation so that at least I had a place to eat. You can always cancel if you decide it's not for you.

I've heard its basically overflow for Liberty Tree Tavern.

And if you know the history of the place there is no show.

I already have a ADR for dinner at Cape May, BUT I just made a 5:00 ADR for Diamond H.R. just so that we won't have to go all over to eat. We already have CP for dinner and Plaza for a lunch on another day. SO this may work

I can remember seeing a show there when I was little back in the very early 80's!!! Wonder how they set it up for dinner? Do you get to eat upstairs? Hmmm I may call Disney dining, but we all know that the DIS knows more sometimes then they do in certain cases!!

They only open it for High season and Free Dining times, where overflow is needed.There is no longer a show anymore.Essentially it is the SAME family style meal served over at LTT.

it's NOT a buffet, that's some misinformation. It is EXACTLY the same food as Liberty Tree dinner...they were putting "western" style names on the dishes instead of "patriot" type names. But it is served the same (family style...they bring platters or bowls of each item to the table.) The servers wear the same costumes as Liberty Tree (which doesn't actually fit the decor in there.)

If you like Liberty Tree dinner food, you'll like this.

You're right, Disney Dine castmembers will not know (most of them are over at Tampa anyway...nowhere close to Disney World...I always ask if they've ever been to Disney World...surprising number admit they have not been to Orlando.)

If you want a closer sit-down option that won't take as much time to get to as Cape May, I'd hop the resort monorail fromMagic Kingdom to one of the Magic Kingdom resorts...Grand Floridian Cafe at Grand Flor, Kona Cafe at Polynesian or The Wave at Contemporary are all good (and one credit if on the dining plan.) The monorail ride is relaxing (and air conditioned) Easy to do with kids...and most kids think it's another cool ride (heard one mom calling it "remember honey, this is the restaurant ride, lol.) Or you can take the resort boats, but those usually mean a hike from the resort dock to where the restaurants are. The monorail deposits you very close to the restaurants within the main building at the resorts.

thanks CATNE!!! Very helpful I know about those other restaurants, but we really want the convenience of staying put this trip. I have 16+ trips under my belt but NONE the week before Easter and we want to simplify as much as we can. Funny thing is on the ADR site it lists it as a buffet. Again thanks for responding and being helpful it means alot

That website's wrong about a lot of things, too. For instance, it still says that Via Napoli accepts all TS dining plans except the deluxe, which isn't the case.

anyone else book this? Ever? Does it feel like an "odd ball" place to eat? Didn't realize that colonial style servers in the western theme restaurant would be kinda weird

1) As an overflow for LTT, it is a fish-out-of-water.
2) Eat if very hungry, otherwise take LTT, or just pass it by.

thanks everyone, think we will pass on it. Still have my adr for Cape may, but like I said this year I am afraid of doing all the "to and fro" for ADR's due to being such a busy time. Was trying to make things simple, but still want to enjoy a TS for our family of 4!
