Diamond Celebration: 24 Hour Event @ Disneyland Resort May 22-23!

The group I am traveling with is planning to get up at 4 am, and walk over to get in line, and we are hoping to make it all 24 hours. We may truly regret this! lol

I think this will be my plan as well. I will, however, take a break around noon for a couple hours. I'm hoping to make it at least until 3am so I can catch the late showing of WOC. You only live once, right??!!

Unless you truly believe in redemption and reincarnation. No guarantee of course. ;)
No, really! :faint:

well we don't fly in until thursday night! hmm... on second thought, could have saved on the hotel!!

I haven't seen the specifics for this year, but in 2014 they did not allow guests to line up until after midnight. Security wasn't open until 3:00 am (so you could line up, but you were outside of the security check point from midnight to 3:00 am) and Guests arriving before 5:00 am were directed to the Simba parking lot. I don't how much of this will be the same this year, but I would guess some/much will be similar.

Hey 24 hour party people -- what is the best way to deal with tickets for this day? I was planning to buy a one-day park hopper from ares travel (like I always have in the past), but I just realized that I'll have to take time to take that to the ticket booth to exchange for a card ticket. I'd like to avoid taking the time to do that, as I won't be arriving until thursday evening, and I want to get plenty of sleep that night. I obviously don't want to be dealing with it at 4 am on Friday. Is there a way to avoid having to visit the ticket booths?

Buy it directly from Disneyland.com. You will pay full-price, but you get an e-ticket that you will take directly to the turnstiles.

I did way.com saved $5 for a park hopper. You exchange it for a ticket at the gate. So one less line to wait in!

Sounds like my plan of attack for WoC. It's the one I care least about, so I figure if I make it until 3AM, great, and if not, at least I won't have missed the other shows. Question though. How do I get a fastpass for the 3AM show? Or will there be a chance of not needing one for that one by some miracle? Because I'm really planning on spending the entire day at DL and I don't want to run over to DCA until after the fireworks.

Live with Kelly and Michael have announced they'll taping in front of the castle from May 18-22. They go live at 6am, so this may impact MM that week and if the Friday show is live, they'll have to have their audience in place prior to 6am, which will no doubt impact the 6am opening and the people lining up for entry.

The show will air on May 18-22, but the taping will take place on May 17 (2 tapings), May 18 (2 tapings) and May 19 (1 taping). So, it looks like they should be wrapped up before the 22nd. I figured that would be the case since it looks like there will be media events on May 20/21 when DCA/DL will close at 6pm. They won't want ugly big screens or stages for the LIVE taping up for that. I'm sure it will all be taken down in time for the 24 hour party.

I'm kinda glad I switched my trip from May 17/18 to the 24 hour party now. I don't think I would enjoy being there while they are taping.

Me too. I've never even seen WOC, but I figure since I'll be there almost all night, why not? I'm not sure about the FPs though, I was wondering that myself. I might just pop over there after the fireworks to see if there are any available.

Thank you for clarifying that! I was concerned! :upsidedow

I am not sure what time I will be arriving yet. I think I heard there will be dance parties. I am wondering if that will be only at night. I remember the new years eve dance parties. I wonder if it will be similar to that.

:dogdance:

Honestly, that entire week, especially the 22, just sounds like a crowd disaster. How many more media events are they (Disney) going to allow for that week?
:faint:

Might be time to change plans, am already getting overwhelmed. Good grief!

For the 3 am show, you should be able to get a fastpass from the usual spot. I picked mine up around 10 am last year.

The lines last year weren't bad to get in, no worse than any typical busy Saturday/summer morning. I didn't get there until about an hour beforehand and bought my ticket day of (no line at the ticket window), placing me getting in line about 45 mins by the time I got my ticket and a locker outside the parks. The lockers outside the park went really quickly and I felt fortunate to have gotten a small locker (so if you want a locker outside the parks. get there at least an hour early, if not earlier).

Good to know about the lockers. I've never used them before, but for this event I was thinking I might. Does anyone know how much they cost? Do I need bills/quarters, or can i use a credit card?

I heard the Mad T party will go from 6pm to 6am so I guess live music for those 12 hours, of course they probably stop drink service around 130 I would think

You pulled a FP at 10am for the 3am show? Yikes! I was thinking of pulling it at 10PM but it sounds like I'd be out of luck! Maybe I'll try to pull one at noon instead.

The small lockers are $7. Yes, you can use credit cards, very convenient!
