Yeah, I asked when I was there a couple of weeks ago and no one could answer whether or not a FP would be needed for the 3AM. Best guess is yes. My plan is to shoot over to DCA around 9 or 10 just to grab a pass. If I get a 3AM, great. If not, I guess I'll be skipping WoC. But, in my case I'm not the biggest fan of WoC anyway, so no big deal.

I just read in the "comments and replies" section of the Disney Parks blog (yesterday's blog about lining up and such) that the 3am WOC show will have a dedicated FP distribution alongside the regular FP kiosks. I was thinking that one would have to wait for the first two shows to be distributed first, but looks like that's not the case. I'm not sure how to approach this now. I was going to pop over there around noon to check on FP before taking a break at the hotel. Looks like I may need to check on them earlier now. Ugh!

oh this is good news!

I know that no one can answer this for sure, but what are the chances the park reaches capacity in the morning? We are driving in from Las Vegas and will need to get at least some sleep before we leave because my daughter has dance all day Thursday. We were planning to leave here early Friday and arrive at DL around 9-10am. Is that way too late? I am now thinking that maybe a better plan would be just driving there after my daughter's last dance class, arriving around 1am, and sleeping in the parking lot in our car until 6am or so. We don't care about the opening ceremony or the goodies, but we don't want to get locked out entirely.

I don't think the park will reach capacity until the locals start to get off work and head to the parks. :)

I do think it will be more crowded than the other 24 hour events before it. I work for a local hotel that hasn't sold out for any of the prior 24 hour events. This time we are totally sold out Friday night (as is our sister property).

I think there will be a big crowd right at 6:00 am (but not at capacity) and then a portion of those guests will leave to go to work/school and then there will be another bump in the afternoon/evening. I don't think the parks are going to hit capacity mid-morning (I could be wrong of course!).

I wonder what there source is on GMA

Thanks for the replies! That's good to know and quite a relief. We really should sleep before a four hour drive and 24 hours in the parks, LOL.

is there going to be a dance party at the castle this year, with the dj and the jumbo screen like last year??

It hasn't been mentioned so far, but that doesn't mean it won't be one of the surprises!

I just read in the "comments and replies" section of the Disney Parks blog (yesterday's blog about lining up and such) that the 3am WOC show will have a dedicated FP distribution alongside the regular FP kiosks. I swear, every time I think I have it all planned out, something else changes! Maybe I'll go to DL for the opening ceremony, run over to DCA to get my fastpass, then run back? That seems like a lot of running though...

On a not as important note, but one that matters to me, do you guys think the Matterhorn's single rider line will be open? I'm really hoping it will so I can save a little time. I have this plan in my head, but I'm trying to decide whether to ride HM first to see Hattie, or Matterhorn since I know the line will be long all day.

Is anyone planning on arriving around 2am? I don’t know anything about the Pumbaa lot. Is it large enough that there would still be available parking at 2am? Can someone tell me exactly where the lot is and if there is a tram or do you walk from it to the park? Thanks much.

I hope not, although it wouldn't surprise me. Whenever there is a DJ at the castle and a swing band at PFF, no one, not even the band, can hear a thing over the DJ's music. It is really exhausting trying to dance to a band you can't even hear!

The Pumbaa lot is located behind Garden Walk (on Disney Way?), by the Ramada Maingate.

Your not alone on that one... We are getting up at 4:30am & flying to SNA droppin, our bags at our hotel & then catching the Toy Story lot shuttle to the parks. We will probably be there around 9am or a little later... You definitely need your sleep tho...

That's an interesting conundrum...I would probably keep an eye on the Matterhorn as you approach it to see if it's running (someone in another thread mentioned that it was delayed in opening the first morning after the refurbishment ended last time). If it is, I would head there and hope for the SRL. The only time I've been there when the SRL wasn't open was when the SRL was "full" and CMs had cut it off because it had reached the turnstile. If Matterhorn isn't running, then I'd head to HM.

The Pumbaa lot is within walking distance and they normally do not run shuttles to and from it. My guess is that they are guessing that the line will extend far enough down Harbor initially that they won't need to shuttle guests to the parks. Truthfully though, I don't know how it'll work this year.

(Alas, Pumbaa is spelled wrong, but it's tough to fix it at this point. Sorry about that!)

I completely agree! Last year, the DJ was so loud it was uncomforable on the ears even over at Jolly Holiday! I can't imagine what it must have been like at PFF or even closer to the castle!

. Thank god for park hoppers..lol. I will be heading straight to the WOC FP hoping to get one before they run out & then running off to DL...
