This week I got to go down to WDW with my DSIL and DN, 5. I HAD to go, since I needed a hat from Mexico, and wanted to see the new ride.. .
We live in S.Carolina, a 6 hour, 11 min drive to the WORLD, if no Harley shops make us stop, or if I am going solo, or if there isn't a 5 yo in the car! Other wise it is a 9+ hour trip down.
Now this was a very last min. trip, like only 2 day notice! So I called the timeshare we own and got 2 nights... the wrong 2 nights... and had to rent a night. This shoulg have been the first indication that all was not going to be totally magical...
The second was that on the day we were to leave we did not get going till almost 1pm! I could have been there and at a park if I was going alone! for several hours! But I told my DN that we would be in "Nebraska" soon... and that was where Disney World was... for some reason she didn't buy it!
But we did get there, and stopped for a snack at Earl of Sandwich, DTD. Wonderfull as usual.
The next moring(Wed, April 4), we arose, and headed to the park, Nebraska, Disney.., only 30 min latter then I wanted to be. And it was so great! We did 9 rides in an hour and 1/2! Dumbo, SW,PP, SW, MP, HM and a few others! So we got fast passes for Buzz, and SM. At that point we were sure we would be done with the important things, as my DN said! and we could get lunch and head to Ecpot for the hat, and the new Mexico ride...
So off we 3 go to grab a Dole whip snack... and we talked to a great CM, we told her we had ADRs at Tonys, since we couldn't get into Crystal Palace when we called. She made a face and said that Tonys was not one of her favorites.. so we desided to try walkin into CP.On the way back to grab the stroller/bag carrier, I ran ahead with the DN to try and get Jungle fastpasses... and we were to meet Sis at POTC.
Well I had the lightbulb idea to teach DN to be a good Disney guest and put the trash we found in the can... and we did. Finally Sis shows up, sprouting blood...the stroller had attacked her finger and cut it to the nail bed. Off I sent her to first aid... and I went to CP, which said we could get in in 1 to 1 1/2 hours, which was great as that was earlier then the Tonys ADR, they kindly canclled the ADRs...
And I went with the buzzer to first aid. All is still kinda well... we sit and let the ice on her finger melt till a ton of folk come in and we go off to wait. And in about 20 min we get into CP!
It is when we get to the table that I notice the the diamond in my engagement ring is GONE! It had been there an hour earlier when we applied sun screen... so I race out and am the worst disney guest there is, the one walking with head down, slow, in everyones way. I peeved off tons of folks, but when they ask what I am doing I tell them I am looking for my diamond... and of course I can't cry about it cause I am at Disney, and it would really upset my neice...
We looked for 3 hours, found an amazing amout of stuff... turned in the good stuff to lost and found... and was helped by the wonderfull CMs at each and every place we had been! They were great!
Now keep in mind we STILL need to go to Ecpot and get the hat, and do the new ride, and a few adult bevs, since they don't have that at MK, and I really, really wanted a drink!..... so we start out of MK.Go to Town Hall and tell the story, and they most wonderfull CM takes all my info. and cell #. Off to Ecpot...
Get there, get the stroller, and head to Mexico. And the ride is closed! And the hat is more expensive... but we can still drink, so we did...
While we are there I get a call from the CM at Town Hall, MK, he says there is someing for me there, will I be back? Well, sure as I am holding 3 sets of fast passes we didn't use when I lost the diamong, and a few sets they gave us when I reported the lost diamond...
Off we go, get there and it is in the middle of the parade.. and no one in TH has any idea what there is for me. I am hopin it is the diamond! hahahh!
But the CM says they find stones all the time! And still have some from 2002, so I said, I'll have one of them... but no...
The orginal CM that took all my info had gone out and bought me a ring! Not a very expensive one, but it was so sweet! It made me feel better that some one woudl do that!
And the next day as we were leaving we went to WOD in DTD and they had a MM ring with my birthstone in it.. so I got it! It has almost a 1/2 car. saphire at MMs head, with 2 smaller ones on the side.
So if you all are ever in a park and find a 1/4 c. flawless blue-white diamond PM me...
And my DH did have it insured- for the wholesale price 24 years ago! I was working at a jewlery company in the SF bay Area , CA, then and got a great deal. I could have had over a 1 c. stone for the cost of that little 1/4 one, but no... DH had never upped the replacement cost in 24 years.. .so I think I am going stay with the MM saphire for now!
So, how was your last trip?
I think I should go down next week for a few days to look for the diamond, what do you all think? And know of any place I can get a good diamond cheap?
