Diabetes Can't Stop Us! (no longer a Maybe Trip Report!)

I'm so glad you were able to work things out for this trip. It sounds like it is going to be great! 12 days; I'm so jealous! ;) The Y.E.S. Programs sound really neat. Happy planning! :thumbsup2

Thanks for checking in and posting! I know I can't believe it about the 12 days either! I used to wonder how people went for 2 weeks, 1 month, etc. After our first trip I swore that people who stayed off site were crazy! I'm a little nervous, but I must say what I've seen about Bonnet Creek so far, I'm in love! I'm not wild about not eating in the parks. That was one of the tradeoffs about going for 12 days. We could do 7 days on site with free dining or 12 days off site. the kids chose 12 days. But I must say, I was really looking forward to breakfast with Pooh!

Our budget is coming along nicely. Booking the trip before you have all the money always makes me nervous. The last time I booked and bought airfare in 2009, I had NEVER done anything like that. (I don't even call to order the pizza!) Anyway, I wound up going to bed with a migraine. We have a garage sale coming up next week. Y'all can feel free to pray that people want to buy all of our junk for the sticker prices lol!

And finally, does anyone know how to change the title of this thread? Since we're officially going I want to change it to Diabetes Can't Stop Us!

Thanks to everyone for reading along. Y'all rock!

Whew! Brought this back from the netherworlds of threads! I hadn't updated because I didn't have anything new after the exciting news of actually booking the trip and finding out my friend KigerKat was going to be there at the same time! But now there is a budget update because I got another payheck! and I had a garage sale! When I left off, I had just booked the trip. My Mom had come up for a few days and had taken my three youngest home with her. That alone saved me $125 in groceries! So I was able to save $200 off of this last paycheck. Then, at the garage sale I made $350. WooHoo! So now we have another $550. That's great!!! I only need to save $750 more to pay off the hotel. Well, I really only need $450 more to pay off the hotel and then $300 to pay my Dad back for the deposit. After we get the money for the hotel, then I will start to focus on gas money. I need about $1000 for gas and hotel rooms on the way down there and back. Another couple hundred wouldn't hurt. This week I'm working an extra 24 hours so I should see an extra $350 or so in my check. I am trying to talk my husband into another garage sale at the end of April or in May. We'll see.
On other fronts, I'm planning, planning, planning. I'll start updating our trip itinerary soon so you can watch it evolve lol! My kids informed me that they didn't really want to meet any of the characters. DD of course wants to meet all of the princesses, DS 7 wants to meet Donald, Stitch and both of the younger boys want to meet the Beast. I, want to meet ALL the characters. But I guess I'll save that for when the husband and I go back just the two of us. Everyone will have to meet Mickey Mouse. Possibly twice or three times. They may have to meet him at Toontown, and for sure DHS in his Sorcerer get up and then possibly at AK or Epcot. We'll see.
DD asked if she could ride to WDW with her grandparents. I agreed. I couldn't really figure out why she was asking, but I didn't really care. Then she tells me that its because Hannie and Dad-Dad (that's what we call them-don't ask!) were going to cross the Mississippi River. Folks, take a look at where I live. That's right I live in Texas too. Just like my parents. Now, take a look at a map of the US. Find driving route to WDW that DOESN'T cross the Mississip. Crazy girl. And then she was astounded when I informed her that we too, would be crossing the Mississippi and that I planned to stop in Vicksburg and have lunch. Yes, we do homeschool. Apparently, we don't do enough Geography!
The kids start back to school this week and I don't have any of their lessons ready so this is going to be a short update for now. If I get a chance I will come back and start posting our itinerary. Maybe I'll do it before this thread makes it back to page 5!

WooHoo! Plans are coming along. I've had some friends start helping me think about the menu. I want to get most of the grocery shopping done here and the cooking done. Then I'll freeze everything and haul it across country on dry ice. Here are some of the meals I've been thinking about:
Breakfast
Breakfast casserole
Cereal
Pancakes
Breakfast burritos
Eggs, sausage, biscuits
We'll probably just circulate through these a couple of times.
Oops, husband's home and caught me on the computer! Better go fold laundry or make dinner!

Everything sounds great! I'm in limbo.. except to work and save and pay there's nothing left to do until about August for me..

Wow! I got really busy working!!! It still seems so far away, 121 days! But I have been quite busy! I booked our hotel for the trip down and back. I had a huge oops with that.:scared1: There is a reason you shouldn't plan your vacation at work, at 2 a.m.!:confused3 I was booking for Crestview, Fl. for the trip down and back. I found a Comfort Inn & Suites that has 2 Queen Size beds. It will only let you book for 4 people. I figure what they don't know won't hurt 'em. Honestly we'll be there for less than 8 hours. I know, :furious: flames coming my way. Flame away and feel free to book your vacation and spend your money the way you like! :goodvibes Anywhoo, serves me right trying to pull a fast one 'cause on the return trip I accidentally booked for the Comfort Inn & Suites in Destin,Fl. And of course, I booked with a no cancellation policy so even though I caught the mistake less than 24 hours later, I ate 80 bucks. :worried: Oh well, can't change it. So other than making mistakes, I have been happily planning my little heart away.
As of right now, this is our schedule:
Thurs. Aug 30 5 p.m.
leave home and drive to my parents house in Greenville,Tx. Arrive around 11 p.m.

Fri. Aug. 31 6 a.m.
leave my parents house and head for Crestview, Fl.It is a 11.5 hour trip according to mapquest, but considering that it is the Friday of Labor Day and we will have stops along the way I'm hoping to reach Vicksburg,MS in time for lunch, and then be in Crestview by 10 or 11.

Sat. Sept. 1 7 a.m.
leave for Orlando. Again, mapquest says 7.5 hours. I would love to make it in that amount of time. As we get closer I may change our departure time and move it up an hour or two. We are staying at Wyndham Bonnet Creek and I would like to check in around 4p.m. We also
need to pick up our Y.E.S tickets from Guest Services on this day. If we get in really late we can always do it the next day.

Sun. Sept. 2
Either Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon. This way we can sleep in a bit and relax at the Water Park. The kids can run around all they want, but I intend for the Lazy River to get a minimum of 4 hours of my time!!:cloud9: And I'm hoping to go to dinner that night with KigerKat!!

Mon. Sept. 3
DHS for the kids to participate in Jedi Training Academy and possibly ride TSM then over to MK for all of our favorites plus MSEP and Wishes! We'll take our lunch this day and then probably eat a CS dinner at MK that night.

Tues. Sept. 4
AK. The first of our Y.E.S classes. DD 10 is taking the Wild By Nature class. She should get to ride Kilimanjaro Safaris, walk the Maharajah Jungle trek and do the Forest Exploration Trail. Either my mother or I will go with her. Her class runs 8:30 to 11:30. The rest of the family will see these same attractions during this time plus ride EE. At 11:30 it'll be another brown bag lunch for us and then we'll finish riding all of our favorites at AK plus another round on EE.We should be done by 5:30 ish and then back to the hotel for an evening of swimming.

Wed. Sept. 5
The Holy Land Experience. This is a place in Orlando about 15 minutes from Disney World with stage shows and re-creations of Jesus' life. It runs 10 a.m.- 6p.m. Tuesday-Saturday. Admission is $25/adult and $10/kid. My kids aren't super excited, but my Dad who would rather be in Israel instead of Disney is!:cool1: i think it'll be interesting and we'll have a good time. My husband is an associate pastor at a Baptist church so I'm not too sure about the pool that has been consecrated by Pastor Benny Hinn!:rotfl2: (That's a Baptist joke- sometimes we're a little steeped in tradition. I'm not sure where we'll sit at the shows. My pew won't be there:lmao:)

Thurs. Sept. 6
Epcot. TT will be closed but we're going to cover everything in one day! I know, right? We're planning on going back to the hotel for a few hours in the middle of the day. Anything we miss we'll cover next week after my parents have gone. The big things to hit on this Day are Soaring, Mission Space, Nemo and friends, Club Cool (the Beverly!!- Gonna zap my Dad on that one!) Sum of all Thrills, Pick a Pearl in Japan, and then some of the shows in WS.

Fri. Sept. 7
MK. The last of our Y.E.S days. All of the boys have class this morning. Its called a different name for each one of them but its basically the same class based on their age. DS 7 is doing How Things Move, DS9 Physics- World of Motion, DS12 same name different class. While they're doing that either my mother or I will take DD10 to meet all the princesses. We're going to follow Kenny the Pirates Princess character guide. She should be able to meet Rapunzel, Tiana, Ariel&Eric,Tink& another fairy, Fairy Godmother,Lady Tremaine, Anastasia,Drisella, Mary
Poppins, Snow White, Belle, Cinderella, and Aurora. After the boys get out of class we'll stop by and have everyone take their picture with Mickey Mouse. There are other characters such as Alice in Wonderland, and Jessie and Woody on the Touring list which I got from Kenny the Pirate, but since some of the boys want to meet Aladdin, the White Rabbit, and Woody&Jessie, we're leaving them off for today.

I have more planned, but I need to do a math lesson with the kids so I'll be back. After math and a trip to the bank!

Sun. Sept. 2 Either Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon. This way we can
sleep in a bit and relax at the Water Park. The kids can run
around all they want, but I intend for the Lazy River to get a
minimum of 4 hours of my time!!:cloud9: And I'm hoping to go
to dinner that night with KigerKat!

September 2nd is our 5 year anniversary, and Brett and I have reservations at Via Napoli at EP that night! Any chance we could meet up on the 3rd instead??? The 3rd is our last full day at WDW, and we'll be heading home on the 4th. But if the 3rd doesn't work, then perhaps we could meet up for breakfast or an early lunch on the 4th.

And on with the show!:moped:
We left off on Fri. Sept. 7. After we get done with MK we'll probably head back to the hotel for some swim/relaxation and then to Downtown Disney for some shopping and Disney Quest.

Sat. Sept. 8
This is my parents last day at Disney. We're going to spend it at DHS. It'll just be your typical DHS day TSM, RNR, TOT, ST, LMA stunt show, BB live, IAJ stunt show, VOTLM, Muppets, no Great Movie Ride or Backlot Tour. We're going to take the afternoon off and then head back at night for F!

Sun. Sept. 9
My parents are heading home on this morning and we'll need a break from the parks so it'll be another water park day for us. I'll probably try to get there at opening and leave early around 3 or 4. Disney Quest and Downtown Disney may be calling our name that night.

Mon. Sept. 10
This kicks off the first of three days of the great character hunt! We'll be hunting characters at MK today while hitting up a few of our favorite rides or missed attractions. We probably won't stay late or we'll take a break in the middle of the day. These are the last days of our vacation and I don't have them scheduled as such yet. We'll probably have an idea of what we want to ride again as we head into the park and grab some FP for those rides.

Tues Sept. 11
It feels odd to think that we will be at WDW on this day.I wonder if generations to come will pause and reflect on this day just like I pause on Dec. 7.Today will be the same plan different park. DHS. We won't hit F! tonight though.

Wed. Sept. 12
Our last day at WDW and boy oh boy will it be a doozy! Its the last day of the Great Character Hunt. We will hit 3 parks today(maybe). It'll be mostly character hunting and very little riding. We'll start out the morning at AK and meet the likes of Rafiki, Dug&Russel, and Pochontas as well as others before we head out of the park at noon. After a quick rest at our hotel we need to be in Epcot all the way back to China by 3:10 to make our way around the WS meeting Mulan, Aladdin&Jasmine, Beauty&Beast,Marie, and perhaps even Duffy. From here we'll run to the hotel for some dinner and then catch Wishes one last time from either our hotel, the beach at Poly, or if we must, back at MK.

Thurs. Sept. 13
This begins our sad trek home. After we load up and check out I want to hit Downtown Disney for any last minute souvenirs and perhaps a bite to eat at EOS before starting to Crestview.

Fri. Sept. 14
This is the long day of driving. From Crestview, Fl. to my parents house outside of Dallas, Tx. Luckily, I am borrowing a couple of car DVD players that have two screens. Since we'll have two systems it'll give each kid their own screen, but 2 kids will watch one movie, while 2 watch the other and then they can switch. On the ride down I'm making a scrapbook for them to fill in about the history and geography of the5 states will go through. (that includes Tx.) I know, life's hard when you take your teacher on vacay ain't it?

Sat. Sept. 15
We'll finally make it home today after 16 days away! We probably won't get an early start. As long as we get away from my parents by noon we'll get home at a decent time. Luckily for us, I have two sets of cousins who live up here with us and my husband's family also lives nearby. His parents are going to watch the dog for us and my cousins will check on the house a couple of times each day. Our neighborhood isn't the best, but we do have a cop that lives next door!

So that's the plan so far. I would like to find more time to explore some of the Disney resorts areas such as the Boardwalk, Ft. Wilderness, and the others. I make these plans, but there are always adjustments once we're there. I'm excited because I used TouringPlans.com this time and it has saved all of my personalized plans on the site and I can access them from my phone along with the wait lines for all of the shows and attractions, and FP return times. I think it will make modifying the plans on the go a lot easier!

Actually, the 3rd would be fantabulous! I wasn't sure if y'all were heading out that day or the 4th! I'm so excited. And Va-Va Voom to you guys for reservations at Napoli for your anniversary! What are your plans on the 3rd? Will y'all be around MK any or do we want to try and meet for dinner? (Secretly, I think y'all should just stay and Brett can be our very own personal photopass photographer!)

So, in case you aren't aware, if you have somehow managed to miss it, MNSHHP tickets went on sale today. Who wouldn't miss it for the world? Part of me would love to go, but at $375 for my family, plus costumes I can't convince myself its worth it. The kids would love to go and meet all the characters. In theory, its the same cost as a couple of character meals which we aren't doing this time. I'm looking at our budget and I just don't think its going to be an option for us this time. It could be, if my husband would get on board with this idea, but since I don't see that happening, we may have to sit this out. I'm pretty much paying for the whole trip myself. He is supposedly saving some money for spending money, but I don't want to depend on him for that because I may be left standing in the cold! So is there anyone who can convince me that I should absolutely move heaven and earth to get to MNSSHP?

Just discovered a new favorite hobby to pass the days! I called the little red phone booths in Epcot and somebody answered! I called yesterday and no one answered. I think I'll start calling once a day and see if I can make a journal of where everyone is from that actually answers the phone!Fun! In other news, my friend KigerKat is at WDW right now! She was kind enough to go by Animation Studios and take a picture of Sorcerer Mickey 'cause he's my favorite. I have a little Sorcerer Mickey plush that I sleep with. My family calls him my boyfriend 'cause I sleep with him during the day while my husband is at work. (Remember, I work nights- so I'm not being lazy!) Finally, one of my nurses just got back from Disneyland and brought me a little green Mickey Head sucker. Actually, she brought back a little bouquet of them, one for each nurse, but I chose the green one in honor of the DIS.

In non- Disney related news, I am walking out the door to go spend some time at my parents house. Remember they are going with us and I can't wait to bore them with all the plans I've made!!! And finally, My super sweet husband bought me tickets to go watch the Rangers tomorrow night! Here's hoping to a slight rain delay in hoped of better seats! Have a great weekend!

Happy Mother's Day! Now I'm kinda conservative. I don't think being a mother to a four legged animal counts. BUT! When I was growing up we had a couple who lived a few doors down from us on a cul-de-sac. They were childless by choice and kinda adopted me and one other girl on the block. They never had children, but they are parents none the less! They were at my graduation, passed approval on my husband (He submitted the a resume!:rotfl2:), and still give us a Christmas gift every year.Whether you have children or not, I'm betting that you have probably made a profound impact on at least one in your life. I do think it takes a village to raise a child, so to every teacher, child volunteer, Godmother, aunt, and neighbor, Happy Mother's Day!

We're 108 days out! :cool1: A little over a week until we get to do our double digit dance.:banana::banana:

I called Epcot yesterday and talked to an adorable little girl and her mother from Florida. I've been calling everyday, but of course someone doesn't answer everyday. Here is the Disney joke of the day. I got it from Kenny the Pirate http://kennythepirate.com/

Q: What kind of cars do they drive at Disneyworld?

A: Minnie-vans!

Yak, yak, yak!

I was reading through some other trip reports and everyone was, of course, listing off their ADRS. We aren't doing any ADRs this trip. In fact we aren't planning on any TS or QS meals (i'm sure we'll break down and do a couple of QS meals though!) Instead, I have 5 lbs, of taco seasoned ground beef sitting in my freezer ready for taco salad, and taco soup on this trip. I also have 5 lbs. of bacon and 3 packages of hot dogs. Oh yeah, I forgot, I also picked up a big box of Corn Dogs. There's proabably 20 or so in that box. There is also one whole chicken in there cooked and deboned that can be used for Chicken Salad and Chicken Mexican Casserole. This next week I'll probably pick up some more chicken and some more ground beef. I'll cook it up for hamburgers and sloppy joes. The chicken will probably be used in Chicken Spaghetti and Fajita Chicken. That will take care of half of the dinners while we're there. I have four boxes of cereal sitting on top of my refrigerator, but we go through a couple of boxes a week here, so I don't think those will make it. The next time they go on sale at the store though I'll probably stock up for our trip.

Anywho, that whole ramble started because I wanted to ask everyone what are your dream ADRs?

I dream of characters. So I would really like to do CP before MK opens. Tusker HOuse before AK opens and then an early dinner/late lunch at Rainforest at AK. 1900 Park Fare's Supercalafragilistic meal. That's it. I kind of wonder about Victoria and Albert's or Narcoosee's. I am curious about Raglan Road. And I think I would enjoy The Poly's Hawaiian Luau. But, I am not really a Disney veteran. Not like some people around here, anyway. Sometimes, I wonder what I'm missing not having eaten at some of the other places. Tell me. What am I missing? Tell me about your favorites.

In a little bit I'm going to go window shopping for a new Disney wardrobe. I want three or four new shirts. I'm looking for sleeveless shirts that DON'T TOUCH ME! Yes, I want to tour WDW wearing a tent:goodvibes I need one more pair of shorts. I'd like to look at new tennis shoes. I need appropriate jewelry to match all of that of course! I want to look somewhat cute in my Disney pics this time around. Of course I also need to drop at least another 20 lbs. But I'll think of that tomorrow, at Tara! (For those of you not from the South that's a reference to Gone With the Wind. I also need all new "undergarments"(- just in case there are any guys out there- or you leave this browser up and the man of the house walks by!) And I think I've changed my mind on that bagalinni I bought last October for my next Disney trip. I think the little pockets and pouches may drive me nuts. One of the teenagers had a cute cross the body little pouch purse in Sunday School this morning so I may look at those and see what I think. Never fear, the bagallini won't go to waste. I'll loan it to my daughter for all of her diabetes stuff!

Okay I'm off! Everyone enjoy their day!

Subbing! My little girl was diagnosed in July 2010, this will be our first trip to the world! Can't wait to hear more!

WooHoo! :cool1:Its here! We are 99 days away from our trip to Disney World! What time is it? Double Digit Dance Time!:banana::banana: I'm working tonight and I have treated my nurses to my double digit dance which stongly resembles the little banana up there. They are concerned  Actually, I have two nurses here tonight. One just got back from DL and brought me a cute pair of Mickey head earrings. The other is going to WDW July 15. So we're a happy bunch tonight! In honor of the day I have been treating the patients to my Disney Jokes of the Day from Kenny the Pirate's blog. Here's my favorite:

What was Mickey doing in outerspace?

Looking for Pluto!:lmao::rotfl::rotfl2::thumbsup2

Sometimes you have to bring your own happiness to the world! I've been torturing the patients tonight with all of my bad jokes!

In other Disney news, I spent the weekend making pulled pork. I cooked about 17 lbs. of a pork butt roast. I only got a couple of gallon bags of pulled pork out of it. IT was very fatty. But now it is sitting in my deep freeze eagerly waiting Aug. 31 when it can make its cross country trip with us. I also turned 10 lbs. of ground hamburger into 37 hamburger patties. Only 20 of those will make it to the world. We'll eat the rest in the next couple of weeks.

Sunday morning the church youth group had a Breakfast Burrito fundraiser. They had left over eggs that DH bought for $1/doz. and brought home to me. I now have 8 doz. eggs sitting in my fridge waiting for me to freeze. I'm going to use some to make a breakfast casserole with, but the others I will put in little baggies and cook them in boiling water when we get there. Find yourself confused? It works like this. Take a couple of eggs, crack them and put them into a ziploc bag. Scramble them and add in onion, bell pepper, mushrooms, or whatever you want if your looking for more of an omelet than just straight scrambled eggs. Then either cook immediately or freeze. Whne you get ready to cook it, boil a pot of water and suspend the ziploc bag in the water. You don't want it to touch any of the sides of the pot. After a couple of minutes in the boiling water voila! Your eggs are cooked. Slide them out of the bag and enjoy.

DH spent the weekend at my parents house doing some handyman work for them. That netted us a lovely $600 that we will split amongst the kids for spending money. I signed up for a photopass share. Thank you KigerKat!

Now we have some busy days ahead. We signed DS9 up for soccer. He has two practices and games per week through the end of June. Cub Scouts is at least over with as of tomorrow night, but DS12 still has Boy Scouts and several upcoming swim meets. He could've done a swim meet just about every weekend from now through the end of July, but DH and I didn't think we could keep up with that. So he's only going to do 5.

DD10 and I have American Girl camp in two weeks! I am one of the camp directors and I soooo don't have all of my stuff together. I am sure I willdo it all last minute. One of the things that I am in charge of is camp t-shirts. I really don't want to wait until the last minute on those so I will probably try really hard to get those done this weekend. So Disney will proabably have to go on the back burner for 3 weeks or so.

DD will also be doing our local Kids in Business fair in July. I make theses fabulous King sized filled cupcakes. Imagine strawberry filled lemon cupcakes with cream cheese icing. Doesn't that sound yummy? But I think we will probably do cakeballs instead. We could do both. But it will be super easy to produce a gluten free reduced sugar cake ball and then we can capitalize on her diabetes diagnosis. I know she isn't the only kid in our area who has it and this would be a good way to support other people with her disease. We'll let her keep all of her profit for spending money at Disney.

DS12 has been mowing quite a few lawns this summer. He managed to pay for youth camp with the proceeds from one lawn. Another lawn is providing him with ample spending money for Disney and we're making him save the money on the third for a car when its time. Of course, he has to tithe on all of them.

I am working on our daily touring plans. I have all of our park days figured out and for the most part I have the meals figured out.frankly, I'm acquiring food faster than I can get a shopping list together.

Well, that's all I have for now folks! happy Double Digit Day!:banana::banana:

Hi all!:goodvibes Its been awhile since I've posted. I had American Girl camp coming up and had to devote all of my time and energy towards that. But now its over and I made $350 for the Disney fund. My poor Disney fund. I just can't seem to get it all together. I keep spending the money and I'm not sure where. I was getting concerned about it until I realized that I only need half of what I budgeted for the travel portion of the trip. I only have to get us there. Who cares about coming back!:lmao:

No, really, I won't have as much money as I would like for the trip, but I will be in the world and that is all I need. I ordered some Teva mush flipflops from Eddie Bauer the other day. Got 'em for $20 and free shipping. I am desperately looking for a new swimsuit. Eddie Bauer has one love for ONLY $160ish.:confused3 Soo can't afford that. May take the kids and hit the mall later. I'm still looking for a park bag too. I have a baggalini, but it isn't the messenger its much smaller and would actually be just fine if we weren't taking at least one meal into the park everyday. I should just suck it up and take my backpack again, but the thought of that on my back in hot weather just makes m want to whine. So we'll see what I can find. I haven't been able to find any shirts I want to wear. I did pick up a sewing pattern at WalMart for like $3. Can't beat that, plus they've been having clearance priced fabric.

Things are still busy here though, and seem to get busier. DH and DS12 left for Boy Scout camp yesterday. I will leave with DS12 when they get back on Friday for a swim meet in Los Alamos NM. Luckily, one of my nurses' dad lives there and will be out of twn next weekend so he is letting us crash at his condo. DH is staying here with the other 3 while DS9 finishes his last two soccer games of the season. The coach is doing an end of the year party on Sun. but at $25/player + $10/ea. add'l kid we couldn't do that. I feel sort of bad that he isn't getting a trophy, but they haven't one a single game all season. I think at 9 you're old enough to understand when you had a bad season.

The following weekend DH and DS9&7 have Cub Scout camp then Sunday evening the 30th starts Vacation Bible School for us. the rest of the week so that is "fun" that I don't have to take part in!:rolleyes1The other night tech has to have her wisdom teeth out so i am covering her shifts. The following week DH and DS 12 have church camp. I was so looking forward to July 14th because that was going to be the end of the insanity. But no, church league softball starts up the 20th (ish) of July. DH is in charge of that. Oh yay. Happy, happy, joy, joy.

But the good news is, as of today, we are 72 days away! My freezer hasn't seen any more action. I don't even have my menu completely nailed down yet. I also need to make the kids autograph books, travel activity books, oh and perhaps I should finish the scrapbook from our last family vacation to WDW in '09.

In other news, I probably made a complete fool out of myself on another thread. It just made me made. A poster was equating giving a kid a soda at WDW was child abuse and how bad parents of diabetic children are. Now, in reality they were probably discussing obese Type II diabetic children, but they didn't specify and the audacity to judge someone else's parenting skills because of what you see of them in 20-30 minutes on their vacation is ludicrous to me. Anyway, I lashed out. To any of the few readers on here that may have been offended I would like to apologize, but I'm still a little hotheaded.

And while I'm on this rant, just let me say, if you choose to raise your children in a way that I find offensive YOU HAVE EVERY RIGHT TO DO SO. THEY ARE YOUR CHILDREN, NOT MINE AND I SHALL RESERVE ALL JUDGEMENT FOR SOMEONE WAY MORE PERFECT THAN MYSELF TO MAKE.

Okay, rant officially over. And I do apologize, now.:grouphug:

You sound pretty busy!! Brett and I are getting ready to go to Myrtle Beach in 12 days, and I'm looking forward to that!! Other than Myrtle and school, things are pretty quiet for me this summer. My final fall semester will start 2 weeks before our WDW trip, but I don't think me missing two days will hurt me that much at the beginning of the semester.

And don't feel bad about getting upset on other threads. I don't know why I read controversial threads, but I do. And each and every time, someone says something that blows my top, so I feel like I need to respond. I've probably really ticked some people off, but oh, well. Free speech, right? Everyone's entitled to their opinion, but it doesn't make them right.

I am so looking forward to seeing you in a couple of months!! You will be the first person I have seen from GHS since I left there. Some day, I would really like to visit Dawn and the other Carrie, but I don't think there would be any other reason for DH and I to visit the Dallas area. Maybe someday... :cloud9:

I've been following your progress on FB! I just don't post very much. Hey, wanna know what's worse than 3 hours of math twice a week? Teaching four kids in 3 different grade levels math every day!:lmao:

Myrtle Beach sounds great! You and Brett get to have sooo much fun!

I can't wait to see you too! Since we've graduated I've seen people occassionally here and there, but if I go to Greenville I don't really get out much.

I've got to PM you on FB. I owe you money and we need to decide when/where we're going to meet up. Do you think there's anyway Brett can get a rockin' pic of my family in front of the train station outside the turnstiles at MK? If not, I'll try on my own, but I haven't been to succesful on my last two trips.;)

My daughter was diagosed at 10. She just graduated high school with many sports and academic scholarships. ... Nothing stops her! She uses an animas pump and that has been very freeing. Have fun with the planning!
:cool1:

All of our fun will change once we start having children. We have a cruise booked in May that we might have to cancel if I'm more than 6 months pregnant or have a newborn. Kids will definitely change how we do Disney! No more eating dinner at 10PM or getting back to the room at 1AM. On the other hand, I will have someone to keep me company while Brett's off taking pictures.

Speaking of which - of course he can take your family's picture!! And I need to email the other girls in our group about the share, too. Good thing I know about the pre-order price, because they sure don't advertise it on the main Photopass page! You actually have to do a search for it to find it.

And for the record: I would much rather do three different grade levels of math every day than spend 3 hours finding the line of best fit for a data set. Especially whey I have a graphing calculator that is older than some of the other students in the class, and I have to do some of the work by hand. And I won't even be teaching this stuff. This is just to "round out my general math knowledge." I can't wait to be teaching stuff like "if you have 2 apples, and sally gives you one more, how many apples do you have?" That's a lot easier than having to know why y=mx+b.
