I just noticed on Disney's Park Hours and Calenders page that this Sept on the 14th, 21st, and 28th DHS is open til 9pm with an EMH til 11pm while the rest of the month DHS closes at 7:30. All 3 days are Mondays, and the MK MNSSHP starts the 15th and Epcot Food And Wine Starts the 25th...

Anyone know what's going on those days at DHS? -thanks

Well, they aren't closing at 7:30 the first week. Also, you'll notice the other parks are closing earlier on those 7:30 days too... I'm guessing it's just the standard paring back of hours that happens in the down-months.

Sorry, yeah, I wrote that wrong, my point was Monday Sept 7th is Labor Day, it's also the last day of the Frozen Summer event, and that night they are open til 9:30 with a EMH til 11:30

The rest of the month they close at either 8pm or 7:30pm except the the other three Mondays, Sept 14th, 21st, and 28th, they stay open til 9pm plus the EMH til 11pm, all of those days

I understand why they would stay open late on Labor Day but why the other Mondays?

Simply put, it's probably because of the EMH. Since they rotate the parks, it makes sense that DHS gets a certain day for their evening EMH. Since the other parks with evening hours stay open until around 11 or later, it makes sense for them to extend normal operations too.

Ok I see you point, but we have a trip planned for mid Sept, and it's almost time to start booking the Fast Passes, and I was going to skip DHS all together because there is so little to do there. So I couldn't understand why they would keep the park with the least amount of stuff open so late during one of the slower time of the year, espically since last year the Frozen Summer event was supposed to end in late August but then was extended through the weekends in September. and the last 2 years they've had the Villains Unleashed event toward the end August but that hasn't been announced at all this year. I'm just wondering if either of these events might be a possibility for these late Monday nights in Sept before I have to lock in the Fast Passes
