DHS at RD

So, today is a 9 or 10 I guess. DHS is opening at 8am for everyone. We just arrived - here's the tapstile lines at 7:10am...

I so wish I was there right now You must be excited. I thought it would be more crowded, even at 7:10am. I would be interested in hearing if they let you in earlier than 8:00am. When we were there in August I think that they were letting us in 20 minutes before posted opening time, but from recent reports I've read it's only a couple of minutes early.

And here's the 7:30 shot.... On a 9am high crowd day this would be MUCH more crowded! So, more reason to take advantage of a park RD when it opens earlier than usual!

And here is 7:45. CM says that the park has not been opening at quarter of recently, probably because of the 8 am general. A lot more people, but even arriving now will get you into TSMM without much wait if you go straight there. We're going to head to RnRC though and try to ride a couple of times!

If you look at them in a vacuum, they can be very misleading. But, they can be very useful with a little more digging. A crowd calendar of '9' often means the overall crowd in all 4 parks combined. Looking at things in more detail, EasyWDW has Hollywood Studios as it's Most Recommended Park. The early morning crowds shown in the photo support that.

Yes. Most folks either dont want to start that early or cant really get going even though they planned on being there etc... or dont know (insert evil laugh here)..
When they have an early than usual start for everybody (Week before easter and week after easter for Example) they dont open 15 minutes early. Can't blame them can you imagine how early the CMs have to get there to get everything ready? You think we get up early for a 8 or 7 am opening!

I always follow Josh at EasyWDW. There can always be an unexpected anomaly, but he's been right 90% of the time in my experience.

I follow Josh at EasyWDW too. I'm curious as to how you made out today on a high crowd level day. Were you able to accomplish a lot?

Today we were going to do RnRC at RD, but it was down. So I hopped on ToT .... When I got off RnRC was just opening, so we walked on that and then did it a second time on single rider. Then we did TSMM with FP, then we did the Baymax M&G. Then we did Star Tours twice (the DDs did - with theirs and then ours). Then we did the Frozen singalong, went to lunch at Mama Melrose, did Great Movie Ride and now we're in Winn Dixie grabbing dinner....
