DH won pins at WWTBAMillionaire - are they worth anything?

Hi -

DH got in the hot seat and won the lanyard and 10 pins (in addition to the hat and polo shirt !) ... we were wondering if the pins are worth anything to collectors ? If so, how do I find out how much ?

Hi Cindy,
Congrats to DH!

You can do a search on Ebay and that will give the current going rate for the pins you have. Keep in mind that 'going prices' on Ebay can change as quick as the wind.

Also, check out Pinpics.com. This is a huge database of mostly Disney pins. If you click on a particular pin, there is a 'wanting/trading' number. While this is just a general guide, it can help you get a handle on the demand of a particular pin.
The wanting is how many collectors desire this pin. The trading is how many collectors have this pin for trade. Like I said this is only a general guide, as it only indicates the collectors who have actually marked this pin as 'wanting' or 'trading' in their Pinpics account.

As a family, we have had the good fortune to have one of us in the hot seat many times, so we have had many sets of these pins.

The very highest pins (64,000 points and up) have some trade value, and perhaps some eBay value. Lower than that . . . <i>they make great lanyard traders!</i> CMs love to add them to their lanyards because they are less common.

Every now and then I've seen a complete 1,000 point set (hat, lanyard, pins) sell on eBay. I think the price range was about $20-$30 -- but don't quote me on that.

I have ONE WWTBAM 300 point pin in my trader book that's been there for nearly one year now. Traders do not even give it a second glance. Guess I could always unload, er...trade it to a Cast Member.

Thanks for the replies ! Guess we'll hold on to them ... dh was just curious about their value because he was told they were highly collectible when he went offstage to receive his prizes !
