DH wants to sell old XBOX to a friend

We'd just give it away. But then, we usually give stuff away all the time. The last thing I charged a friend or acquaintance for was a car ($7500). Unless you really need the money, why bother with $20-50?

Us too. Last year I gave away my 80g ipod away to my friend's son (I had upgraded to a touch) and my rock band for the wii since I never play it. But maybe OP can't afford to give stuff away.

I would just give it to him.

I would just give it to them as well - it isn't worth much and I would feel bad taking money for it since the person taking it is a friend.

$20 sounds right.

We bought the old xbox along with 2 controllers and 50-100 games from dh's friend for $100 some years back. But that was about when the xbox 360 came out so it wasn't obsolete yet. In this day and age - that's about what it's worth.

We're a little tight on money right now with medical bills, replacing the A/C ($5000) and Christmas. Every little bit helps. The guy isn't one of DH's good friends, so I don't think he feels bad taking $20 for it.

20 sounds about right, and people till buy them, you can mod them fairly easily and play games form just about every (older) system on them.
