Do you think that's why kids want them so young? That it's like walkie talkies to them? My 5th grade son is pushing for one, and I posted a while back about two second graders in our school having them (that we knew of). These were their own personal phones. We had to let the parents know that they can't have those turned on at school. They said they'd told their kids to keep them put up, and I said, oh, they had. I was teaching a reading group when a backpack began ringing...........somehow the child had set an alarm to go off on his phone, and it was going off. He wasn't even in the room at the time.
