Please pray for my family. DH, a reservist, was hand picked to fill a slot in Baghdad. He was in desert storm in 90-91 and I somehow made it, but this seems so much harder with 2 kids. I can't stop crying. :( This is a nightmare.

I'm so sorry. Prayers on the way!

My good wishes with prayers, 3B. Safety be with him, comfort with you and family, and all who serve as well. :hug: Make sure to use the folks here as a source of comfort in days ahead. :hug: And a thank you.

Oh you poor thing I am so sorry.

I'll pray that he gets a really good guardian angel to watch over him and that you do too!

A dear friend's husband who is a reservist and a cop in his real life has been activated twice this year and just got word that he is going back yet again in September. I'll share your worry with you so that she can keep you in her thoughts too.

Prayers sent. Hang in there...you and DH will get though it! This war has been especially hard on our National Guard and Reservists - we owe them and their families a lot.

My prayers are with you. I'm so sorry for your sadness. Best wishes to your husband and please thank him from me.

:hug: :grouphug: :hug: :grouphug: :hug: to you!

Thank you for your family's choice to serve. As a military member and military spouse, I truly feel your pain. DH's last deployment came 4 weeks after DD2 was born.

Hang in there.

From one family serving to another :grouphug: :grouphug:
I have discovered the number of days without phone contact that I can stand before breaking into a day of tears and thats four. My DH is still stateside but on the other side of the country from us and not reachable by phone or email due to his training schedule so I at least know that he is still safe. He will hit Iraq the first part of Sept. Gone is gone though and its not easy. My daughter can't say daddy without crying. I hope it gets easier for her soon. Good luck to you....I'm only a pm away if you need to talk or vent

will add prayers, I cannot imagine how hard this is on you and your family, I hope you have a support group to join..
Prayers for peace

Thank you all for the support. He will be in VA for about 3 weeks, leaving early next week. I will fly up and see him at some point, leaving the kids with family. His "team" is already in Iraq, I think he was a replacement for someone. We know he will be in a building, have his own office and computer and we got him a digital camera yesterday. Everything else is unknown. I am mad they picked him, but know they did for the same reasons I did. He is the best. Best Dad, Husband and Officer. Does not help any. I will come here for support when he leaves and will surely be PMing others going through this. No one else around here is in this situation.
Thanks again for the words and prayers.

I am so sorry-I'll pray for his safe return..and for strength for you and your children. {{{}}}

Please keep praying. I don't know that I can let him go. My heart is breaking for us, our kids and our life. Monday will be the hardest day of my life. I still plan to fly up and see him off in a couple weeks, but this is it for our family for a long time. I keep wanting to wake up from this nightmare.:(
