I have the choice of a connecting flight to Orlando through both of these airports. Which would you choose?

I grew up outside of Dallas and live where I always have to have a layover in Atlanta now, and I would have to say Atlanta. It's easier to navigate, especially if you have to go far away to get your connecting flight. At Dallas you have to go outside to catch the tram that goes around the airport, but it's inside in Atlanta. The shopping is better in Atlanta too, or at least it's better than it was at DFW about 5 years ago.

A lot depends on the flight times and type of plane. I like changing in ATL going to WDW and DFW returning. I'll agree though that all things being equal, I like ATL better...better food, better shops and overall just an easier change.

For me, it would depend more on which airline I was flying. At DFW, if you are flying American, you can possibly need to catch a flight in another terminal which is a big royal pain so I would choose ATL. If you are flying on Delta or one of the other minor airlines (I mean that in terms of terminals at DFW where American is KING), then you will very rarely have to change terminals so it won't be nearly as big of a deal.

Having said that, I like ATL better in general. They seem to have better food (Ben and Jerry's etc.) and better shopping (Disney Store etc.). The treks between terminals can be long but you are inside and there are things to see along the way.

So, if you are not flying American, I would probably choose based upon best flight times including connecting times. Pick the ones that will leave when you like best and arrive at the best time with the least amount of wasted layover time. You may even end up with a connection in DFW on the way there or ATL on the way back (or vice versa) and get to see them both - lol!!

Good luck and best wishes for safe travel,

Severe afternoon thunderstorms are frequent in the summer in Dallas...if that is your travel period.

Well I guess I'm in the minority here, but I would choose DFW. I've flow out of many large national and international airports, and DFW is the easiest to get around in by far.
