I got up early today just so I could go out, play in it, and take some pictures!! I've lived here since 1995 and it's actually the nicest snow I've ever seen here. No ice/sleet storm beforehand.
I am SO glad it is Saturday!
If the snow came during the week I would have to get up by 5:30 and leave by 6:30 so I would have a chance of getting to work by 8:00. Instead I am having a blast w/ the little M's playing in the snow! Yeah!
Of course I have a house full of Girl Scout cookies that can't be picked up by the girls because of the snow. There are worse things than being stuck at home w/ your family in front of the fire with a house full of Girl Scout cookies!
Hey all you Texans- drive safely. I've been down there when it has snowed, and no one down there seems to know how to drive under those conditions. Don't trust anybody on the road.
It is pretty outside, we went to lunch and the roads aren't bad at all. No crowds though We went to Babe's and it was almost deserted.
The girls didn't manage a snow man, they spent the night with grandpa and just got home. Most of their friends have already done snowmen and are ready for a break from the snow. If the back yard doesn't melt too quick they might get one done tomorrow.
Here in Austin we got about 3". Really good packing snow, too. Just snow, no ice, and the roads stayed clear. There was enough for a snowman! But it's all melted already
I'm so glad this snow happened on a Saturday, so we didn't have to think about going in to work (or not going in )... We had an all-out brawl on our hands here on our street.... About 8 adults and 4 kids had an awesome snowball fight!
It's starting to melt now, but it was so much fun while it lasted!
