i was working on a corporate meeting at the Texan this week and after finishing up this morning, i went walking around the hotel and scoping out the mickeys, they have a map of the location of all 15 mickeys in the hotel at guest services. the mickeys will be there this weekend only. they are all inside on the first floor, or are supposed to be.

the list of mickeys is as follows:

BET - mickey in the park
Marlee Matlin - true blue
Annette Funicello - always my angel, mickey
Breanna Rowlette - lobsta mickey
Anthony Rietta for Radio Disney - tune in
Shaquille O'Neal - dunk mouse
Luis Fernandez - circle vision
Andy Garcia - mambo mouse
Doris Roberts - moustaccioli
Lori Tyminski for Disney Publishing Worldwide - funny pages
Malcolm Stone for Suddath Relocation Systems - mickey on the move
David Williamson - flying colors #3
Ben Affleck - home run hero
Jamie Lee Curtis - the original mouse pad
Lamberto Alvarez - el mickey (although this one may be a hidden mickey as he was not where the girl had him marked on her map to be, so this is what i meant by supposed to be 15, as i never saw him in the hotel)

it was pretty cool to see them again, maybe one or two that we missed at mk last dec.

I just saw this in the Dallas Morning News but it said they were there through October 30? Is that not true.

I want to go but don't know if I can make it there this weekend.

according to the guest services girl that i asked, they are leaving on monday, maybe she doesn't have the right information, but i asked her if they were going to be here through october and she said no, only this weekend.

Ack! This weekend only??

I live like 2 miles from there - it hacks me off they are charging an arm & a leg for parking there now. (unless you have a receipt from only certain restaurants) We were going to take the trolley from Downtown Grapevine last weekend, but it was only running every couple hours and we didn't want to stay that long.

I guess we'll take it over anyway - anyone want to go tomorrow afternoon or night from Downtown Grapevine or Grapevine Mills and grab a snack at the coffee shop or somewhere?

Can't go tomorrow night - I'm a Nascar fan and have to watch the race. I want to go when Mickey is there so probably will head over in the morning (with 100's of other people I'm sure, LOL) I work in Flower Mound right by Grapevine Lake, in fact, I can see the tippity top of the hotel from here. Hate to pay that $7.00 to park though.

Actually, the Mickeys will be at the Gaylord through October 21.

Here's the official site for the tour, listing cities and dates: Celebrate Mickey: 75 InspEARations

Also, we're planning a DFW DIS meet to visit the statues at the Gaylord Texan on Sept 19!!! Check out the DFW DIS meet thread for info and to find out who's planning to be there!

I took DS (8) to this yesterday and was soooooooo glad that I did. They had lots of activites for the kids to do, Home Depot was out there with a kids workshop letting the kids make Mickey Mouse bookends, they even gave them a home depot orange apron so they didn't get dirty personalized with their name on it - very nice.

They give you a card when you first get there with all the Mickey's on it, you get the card checked/stamped at each mickey then turn it in for a drawing for a little Mickey statue like the big one and guess what? I actually won one, it's so cute and I was so surprised as I never win anything.

If your planning on going to see these Mickeys, do it today while they are still having all the grand opening activities.

We got lots of free stuff also, i.e., frisbee, CD holders, mickey stickers, posters, book covers and of course Mickey himself made several appearances.

i know what the official tour website says, but all the info i keep hearing on the news and in paper says that they will be there though the 30th of october, which could be why the guest services girl thought that it was only through mon, she had the wrong 30th.

Hi Guys

We went a little while ago, I guess all the grand opening festivities are over. :( They had the map to the Mickeys behind the front counter of Guest Services, they weren't out anywhere - nothing else going on really. It was a nice visit to Gaylord, such a pretty resort anyway.

Have fun :)
