I don’t know how new some of these pricing changes are, but they were news to me, so I’m posting them here in case they’re helpful to others...

Escape Weddings
For 2009, the package has no changes to any elements but the price:

$5,500 for Wedding Pavilion weddings
$4,500 for all other locations

Wishes Weddings
(If you’ve signed your contract already, none of this applies to you.)

Deposit is now $2,000, and the overall minimum expenditure for your date must be paid 90 days in advance. $1,000 of the deposit is applied to whatever you owe beyond your minimum when you pay the final bill 30 days before the wedding. They use the remaining $1,000 to cover any overages and refund the difference to you after the wedding.

Service charges are now 21%

Epcot location fee is now $1,600 (All other location prices are unchanged)

Charter bus is $93.50/hour

Limo is $89.60/hour

IllumiNations/Fantasmic! viewing fee went up to $12.95 per person

Many locations that used to let you apply the cost of the wedding cake to site-specific food and beverage minimums now don’t. (It could be that they never did, but this wasn't stated in the old information packet....) This means, for example, that your $910 Bridge to Happiness cake won’t count toward the (new, cheaper) $1,500 before-4pm food and beverage minimum at American Adventure Parlor. (However, the cake's $14/per person cost will still count toward your overall food and beverage minimum of $75/$100/$125 per person at all locations.)

Lowest-priced dessert party menu (and therefore per-person food and beverage minimum for DPs) is $22.

Ariel’s is available as a reception location til June 1, 2009

The fee for bringing in an outside DJ is $950

The fee for bringing in an outside band is $1,550

Thanks for the info. I guess I have to get the calculator out again. I'm anxious to sign a contract and lock in some rates.

Carrie where did you get all the new info?

Anyway, thanks! I was waiting for 2009 pricing to come out.... I am glad they didnt raise the minimums or anything.... and 21% service charge.... that is so... Disney haha. At least there aren't any major changes.

Thanks for this Carrie - you always know everything!!

So...... what's the deposit for Escape, have you seen what this is on your price finding travels???

Thanks again for keeping us informed! :thumbsup2

Hi!

Yeah, I was constantly tinkering with my spreadsheet when I was trying to figure out if we could afford a DFTW, and I figured there had to be others like me! :goodvibes

I got the updates from my WC. The deposit price for an Escape remains $750. :thumbsup2

We just recieved our BEO for our Dec. 2008 weddding and found that our DJ is going to $2600. for the std package! We thought it was $1500.! We were told it was holiday pricing?? Has any other Dec/holiday brides found this rate increase? We were never told that Dec would be more money! what are we getting for the extra $1000.? Sorry for the venting!!!!:confused3

That really sucks about the deposit not going towards the payment of the wedding. Was the deposit less money before? $2000 is the deposit for Disneyland but it all goes towards the wedding. I wonder if that's changed their too?

There is a line in the info packet DFTW sends out that says "*During certain seasons and on holidays, a higher wedding expenditure may apply. Please ask your Wedding Consultant for more information regarding these times." But I'd never heard just how much more expensive it is....

The deposit *does* go toward payment of the wedding, it just doesn't all go toward the payment BEFORE the wedding.:thumbsup2 It used to be $1,500 at WDW.

Also, Walt Disney World's DFTW and Disneyland's are entirely separate entities - Disneyland's DFTW may have a totally different schedule for updating their prices.

Thanks Carrie.

Can anyone tell me if the Escape price has to have the service charge added - I'm presuming it is subject to 6.5% sales tax.

Thanks.

The escape pricing is pretty cut and dry. If you change the cake or add more drinks, etc.. then that is subject to the service charge. Otherwise, those charges are "included" in the package price.

Whewww.....:donald: I am glad I already signed my contract! Thanks for posting this. I know it will help out the ladies that haven't signed their contracts or who haven't contacted Disney yet!

Whew ! Took some searching to find the final, final, final BEO with the correct floral budget attachment. The only thing I found service charges on were the food additions. The escape package was not taxed, but the food, floral and photo additions were taxable. So if you stay exactly with the package, your price should be what is show as the current pricing.

We have planned our wedding around the holidays and were warned by our WC that entertainment expenses could triple in cost due to "holiday pricing". I have not seen our BEO yet but I am keeping my options open. We are just planning for a violinist during the ceremony and part of the reception. If the DFTW violinist gets anywhere above $1000, I will be looking for an non-Disney violinist replacement.

I'm surprised they haven't done that yet for the outside photographers and videographers that people get.
