developer points - when you won't have enough for length of stay you want

So we are about to go ahead and become DVC members with a purchase at AKV through Disney. We have decided to use our developer points at SSR for our 2009 trip. The only problem is for the length of stay we want, we will be short 29 points (it's like 2 nights). We don't really want to shorten our vacation and we have already chosen to stay in the studio. What would be the best way to make up our lacking points?

We have this problem too, so we are borrowing the point difference from our AKV points. I was told by my guide that that would be no problem and just discuss it with MS when you call 7 months out!

You can use "regular" points with your developer points. I did it to finish off my dev pts on our June trip which was about 3/4 dev pts and 1/4 regular points

I too used some of our banked VWL points along with our Dev. Pts to make the length of reservation that we wanted. MS did it without any problem.

No one has mentioned it because you can't easily combine cash and points. You can, but only for actual nights not partial. Each night must be cash or points.

AND...cash ressies have to be available for your time and unit size in order to do that as well.

Or you could rent a few points for the extra nights.

We kind of have the opposite problem right now as we have 48 developer points left over. Not enough to justify driving from PA to FL again this year. We have thought about renting them out as there really isn't anything else we can do with them except let them go to waste
