Developer Point 7 month question

Hey all! Just a quick question. We are new to DVC and are trying to use our developer points for a trip in November, and as I'm sure you all know, they cannot be booked until 7 months prior to arrival. How does the 7 month rule work? Is it 7 months prior to the first day of the month or first day of the vacation. And also, can you book the entire week at once from 7 months from the date of arrival or do you have to book each day individually? Thanks for your help!

We actually just called this past Saturday to book day by day using our deveoper points. We called 7 months from the first day of check out - we wanted to check in Oct 7 so we called March 8. We were told because we are using developer points we don't have to call back day by day. He let us make the whole reservation the first day because he said it is a lot of paper work to use develpoer points and it is easier for them. He said this is a common practice. If you call 7 months from the day after you want to check in they should let you book your whole trip, just tell them from the beginning you are using developer points.
