DEVASTATED - mY nEW YEAR TRIP TO diSNEY LAND PARIS HAS BEEN CANCELLED BY TRAVELSCOPE

After crying my eyes out for over an hour I have finally pulled myself together along with help and support from my partner.

We were booked with Travelscope to enjoy the new year at DLP. The package encluded travel, hotel, breakfast and park tickets. We litterally found out only one hour ago through the radio that travelscope had gone into administration and that all holidays had been cancelled.


We ran to the internet as we did'nt believe it but sadly it was true


Alot of kiddies will be very dissappointed as their xmas disney trips will also be effected so I am so sad for them....











We have decided to be pro active and get ourselves to DLP for new year any means possible

so far we have managed to book a eurotunnel crossing having found out that our car insurance covers us abroad pushing times a bit and reducing our four day holiday to two days and one night....but hay it means new year in disney so I am happy.

so next we checked park tickets...2 day hoppers exist so we can buy them on the gate

now we have the problem of were to spend the night....all disney hotels are booked up, and most of the surrounding hotels are to....I have tried to call disney direct but no joy



so thats were I have decided to turn to the good old dis boards for some advice/support and help.




we are tempted to sling sleeping bags in the car and just sleep in that for the night!!!! we are young after all!!!!!!



what do you guys suggest? have yyou got any advice for us? Can you or any family members help us out?

I feel very sorry for you, I was watching others on BBC news 24 who have also lost out.

You seem to be bouncing back as best you can I cant help with the hotels but check all the offical sites Disney, and other T/as. Maybr even a hotel nearer Paris on the Metro

If you are considering sleeping in the car then maybe try some of the campsites in Paris... it will be cold but if you could get a mobile home at least you would have a bed!

Not even sure they are open this time of year but it is worth a try. I really hope you get it sorted and have a fab new years at DLP. I'm sure you will!

I realize how disappointed you are not being able to go at New Year, we went for New Year last year never again the ferries were cancelled both ways and the parks were so busy you could not get on any rides.

I work for a coach firm in the north east and travelscope sub contract us to cover some of their coach holidays. They called on thurs to see if we could cover any for xmas/new year, my boss tried calling them back on fri to say we had a coach and driver available, and when he couldn't get through asked me to look on their website to find alternate telephone numbers - and up popped a screen saying they'd been placed into administration!

Their staff obviously knew nothing on thursday. Sad for their passengers with plans for the festive period.
