Those strawberries look devine!!

Oh, and how'd you find the service at GFC? The last time we ate breakfast there it was just awful, but the time before it was spectacular, so I'm hoping to hear they got their act back together!

Yummy start! Thanks!!!popcorn::

The service at GFC was okay. We were one of the first people to arrive, I'm not sure what it's like when they're swamped.... but it was fine when we were there.

Enjoying your reviews. Your son is darling!
Thanks... He wanted to be in a lot of the pictures.

Welcome!

Our lunch on Thurs. was at CP. We arrived early (which was the norm for most of our ADR's. We waited about 15 minutes, and were called in. Our waitress was Cher.

I have to say that this wasn't as bad as I've read. The characters came around within 45 minutes, and the service was fine. (not too fast, not too slow.) The food was okay. Being that we had some heavy meals/ lots of food, I was not too hungry. Jon ate well though ~ from the dessert section... He did eat some of his food too... I took lots of pics. of the buffet (cuz nobody was up there!!!!!) Even had one of the chefs come out and ask how everything was (when I was taking pics.) I told him I scrapbook...which I do, and that I needed pics. for my pages... which I will. (no lies here.)

Here are our plates...
I had some of the different pasta salads, one was couscous with shrimp (not bad), one was a veggie penne salad (okay, not great); There's some regular green salad under there (okay.); rice (eeeewwww!) mediteranian chicken (yum!); flank steak (tough); potatoes (tasted fake); broccoli (BLECH!)

CPmyplate.jpg

Jon's plate: Potatoes; chicken nuggets; deli meat & yellow cheese (why is cheese yellow anyway? it's just not natural.); flank steak (prob. the same as mine~tough); and a couple of pickles.

Here's the dessert Jon made for me:

Ok did Jon eat all that was on his plate this time? :rolleyes1

At CP? Most of it. Not the nuggets, steak or potatoes, but the rest he ate. (plus a sundae similar to the one he made for me.) It's hard for him to eat sometimes...with all that is going on around him. KWIM? He ate the most at Le Cellier, and at LTT... (I'll be posting that later today or tomorrow)

I totally do. My older niece barely ate a bite at Chef Mickeys and the Princess Breakfast, she was on kid pricing back then. We have 4 character breakfasts booked for our trip and the thought of paying for an adult price for her knowing she barely will eat a bite is killing me!

The way I thought of it was, there's food, and there's the characters. We don't have to walk all over to find the characters, they're in one place. If Jon ate a few bites in between, that was just gravy on top of seeing the characters. I see your point too, if the child isn't going to eat, then maybe it's just worth it to get CS and go to the character meets...??? It's a judgement call, if the younger neice will eat a lot (and you and Todd eat a lot), then you've evened out. KWIM? It's stressful, I know. ;)

Love the pictures and reviews! Thanks for taking the time to post.:)

Thanks, and your welcome! LOL!

Thurs. afternoon Jon and I returned to the WL to change for MNSSHP, and dinner. Before we went to the room, we spied a make your own cookie "party" at Roaring Forks... Jon of course, had to partake.. here's the result:
MYOcookieWL.jpg

Thurs. night, Jon and I went to the LTT for dinner, it was just the start of MNSSHP (we were staying for the party). Our server was Hugue, we saw him often, the service was decent. He didn't really ask if we wanted more food, but probably could tell by the way I picked at my food that we were pretty much set.

Okay, the rolls were TO DIE FOR, warm and oh so yummy!!! The butter had a light sweet honey flavor (YUM!!!!) I think I could've eaten bread & butter for dinner!!!

Here's a pic:
LTTrolls.jpg

The salad was good, it had a raspberry vinagrette like dressing (I didn't get to see a menu, so I'm going by the taste). Jon had 4 servings! I thought it was okay, but some lettuce was soggy (blech!). So I just ate another roll with butter....

Here's my plate (before I dumped the gravy all over everything... you're welcome. LOL!) The ham was very good, had a honey mustard "gravy" on top...it was the best of the 3 meats. The steak was good according to Jon, I didn't opt for it because it looked dry and like shoe leather (who wants to eat dry shoe leather???) The turkey was okay, a little dry, but that's why you have GRAVY!!! Jon thought it was okay, but when mixing with potatoes and gravy, it was okay. The stuffing was cornbread-ish (like I said, I didn't see a menu, so it's my taste buds doing the talking...lol!) Potatoes were okay, kinda like home-made. The green beans were a little cold, but green beans get cold fast, so ???. The gravy was good... I smothered it all after I took the picture... LOL! I didn't eat the mac & cheese, Jon did. He loved it, and almost licked the bowl (like at LC! LOL!)

Okay, when Hugue brought out the Cobbler, it had a candle on top... hum, who could that be for...LOL! They make a production of birthday's in here, bell ringing, calling out, etc. It was funny! LOL! I have a pic of the servers singing Happy Birthday (I didn't think it was tacky taking a pic. when they were singing to me... :snooty: LOL!)

Here's a picture of the cobbler...

Here's my "happy birthday":

Oh, I almost forgot, I had picked up a tube of 50 of those light up "bracelets" etc. and had brought them to dinner... This was the thing I did at dinner... I could tell that several of the people who we gave them to were appreciative, but a couple of them were like, um, thanks. Hum, oh well. There was a family that had 3 younger children, and they really loved them! Each child came over and said thank you! (even the 2 yo! ~ so cute!) We saw one of the families later that night, they were thanking us again! LOL! So cute!

Next up: Why do they call it the Whispering Canyon Cafe? I didn't hear much whispering going on! And WHY are we sitting alone like we smell? I put deodorant on this morning!?!

Jon's plate: Potatoes; chicken nuggets; deli meat & yellow cheese (why is cheese yellow anyway? it's just not natural.); flank steak (prob. the same as mine~tough); and a couple of pickles.

My boyfriend is from Vermont originally. He has a fit about yellow cheese every time he sees it. :rotfl2:

It is kinda gross! It doesn't come out of the cow yellow! Odd. Not too many cheeses made in VT are yellow/orange. It's just un-natural!:sad2:

Thanks for reading!

It was pouring rain on Friday AM (it started at the MNSSHP on Thursday night... it didn't stop us from gleaning 15 lbs of candy... they were giving 2 handfuls at a time! Crazy!)

We decided that we'd sleep in a little and skip Kona. We ended up downstairs trying to decide which restaurant to try... Roaring Forks or WCC. Jon opted for WCC. We waited about 2 minutes, and got a table in a section all by ourselves, alone, like we smelled or something. This was the first time we were seated in a off the beaten path seat. (We opted out of another seating like this a little later in the vacation... read on.)

Our server at WCC was "Chestnut"... She did the straw and napkin thing. We didn't need any ketchup, and there weren't any people around us for a fair majority of our meal. Jon got the chocolate shake. He drank about 1/4th of it, and didn't finish it. Don't ask... he just doesn't usually have breakfast, I know it's not good, but he's not a morning person. We also had the skillet, which was okay. The sausage was spicy, the sausage gravy was okay over the biscuit, the bacon (was scarfed down by Jon, I didn't get but a tiny bite) was too smokey, the eggs were a little soggy, I like fried eggs, so this was not a good thing for me...bleck! (I know that there's an "egg following" on the DIS, but I wasn't sure if I would get sick being that they kinda didn't taste done enough ~runny-ish, KWIM?), the potatoes were decent, and the mickey waffles were just like any other mickey waffle, good. I had tea for a hot beverage, and OJ for a cold beverage. It was okay, not great/not horrible. Would I go there again? Probably not. It's not my thing.
Here's Jon's shake:

We hung around the lodge for a while (took a little nap) then we headed over to Epcot. The problem with going from the WL to Epcot is that we make a side trip to the FW to pick up people. This is the ride that makes me want to hurl, sorry if TMI, but I have a hard time sitting sideways looking at things pass, and the bumpy ride... I was green... really green... by the time we made it to Epcot... We headed over to some of the rides Jon wanted to do... Gee thanks Jon. I don't want to go on Mission Space (even if we do the green one)... BLAH!!!! We did go on the ride... I was slightly green... had some spearmint gum, so I recovered quickly. Then we made our way to Japan... for lunch at TE... I only took one picture, it was a little awkward to whip out the camera and get some pictures. Here's a pic. of Jon's Shrimp Cocktail:
TEShrimp.jpg

For my appetizer, I had the tempura, which was good. The dipping sauce was nice. For the entree I had the strip steak and shirmp, and Jon had the filet (he likes to order the most freaking expensive thing on the menu, and typically not eat it all......which is why we usually have our human vacuum cleaner with us when we go out to eat ~ DH. LOL!) We had noodles and veggies(onion and zuchinni)...no mushrooms for me ( ) and white rice (Jon put some of the dipping sauce on it, and asked for seconds...nice.)

We have a Japanese restaurant about an hour from us, and to compare the both, our restaurant has more flavorful sauces. The food/sauces at TE were more bland than I like. Jon and I like the terriaki flavors, and the soy flavors... even spicy stuff... this was very bland to me. We did have a good chef, he was from Florida, he did a great job with the "show". The steak and shrimp was good (I ate it all...*insert pig face here*) Jon didn't eat much of his filet, I should have gotten that, it was so good and melted in your mouth like buddah! mmmmm!

We did have the chocolate ginger cake for dessert, and my birthday ice cream... huge bowl of ice cream.... Jon said "mom, you have to eat it all"... um, I wasn't that hungry.

Would we go here again... nah. We have a Japanese habachi restaurant close enough to us, I don't need to go here again. (not that I don't recommend it.... it's good if you have never been!)

Jon and walked around the world for a bit, and I got one of those Grand Marnier slushies... mmmmm! Very good, not enough booze, but good cuz I'm a lightweight anyway. We also shared a cheese plate from the France Bakery (I know it's called something else, but it's what it says on the receipt.) This wasn't included in the DxDP, so we paid OOP for it... $6.34 inc. tax. Worth it... came with a small baguette, had swiss, brie, and munster. Jon ate all of the swiss, and some of the munster... I got it for the brie and baguette... my favorite! Yum!

Next up: Cape May Cafe...and Tusker House!!!!! (Hey Nicki... I have lots of pictures of the TH buffet... Yum!)

:rotfl: That's exactly what he says! Too funny! :rotfl:

Anyways, I love Tepan Edo, but I also find that the Hibachi restaurants around us don't measure up. Maybe I'll have to get the bf to take me to a Hibachi restaurant in VT if we visit his old stomping grounds :goodvibes Can't wait to read more!

There's Koto on Route 7 in S. Burlington. That's the place we go, and we love it! They aren't open til 4 or 5 pm on Sundays, but the rest of the week they're open at noonish. I could really go for some now!
