"Detroit has never sounded so sexy!" A mother/daughter February 2012 NEW TR LINK

I just scratched it off our list! Thanks for saving us long wait times. My sister had wanted us to do it to tell them all about it, but I know her girls will want to do it for sure when they are there in August, so we will just do that!

Glad that I could help open up your MK time! :goodvibes I just feel like it is targeted at boys :confused3 I found it to resemble Pokemon or one of those trading card games not something I think you or Jasmine would find fun :thumbsup2

No more lurking for me, hello. What a fun trip report. I am a frequent diner at Kona, Beaches and Cream and the Boardwalk. Have never stayed there, so maybe someone guesses that I don't really belong? Just kidding, visiting the resorts is all part of our WDW experience.
I love POR, and have probably stayed there more than any other resort. The boat ride to DTD, the landscaped grounds and Bob's show are my favorite parts of staying there. You are very lucky to have your next trip to look forward to, and to be able to stay at the GF too!
Your story about PTC is so funny, that is a big adult lemonade that Caitlyn had. Love the color too. We (7 adult women, all there to watch my DD run the wine and dine 1/2 marathon) had that same waiter on our last trip to Prime Time, he was Hilarious. We still talk about how it was the highlight of our trip. When we left lunch we went on TSM, fast pass line. We were all in such a good mood the CM gave us our fast passes back to use again! So much fun.
I love your dresses, all of them are so cute. The pictures you took in front of the castle are so cute, you both look so happy. Thanks for taking the time to write your TR, it looks like you just needed to ask everyone to stop lurking........popcorn::

We loved POR but we are really looking forward to the GF!

It was a good size :rotfl: He was such a good waiter! To this day I call someone a "sneaky snake" if they are acting shady :rotfl: That is awesome that you got to use your fast passes again!

Thank you! We are always happy in Disney! It looks like I did! I just love hearing from our readers!:goodvibes

Interesting to hear your thoughts on the game. We just got home yesterday :( and we did the game on Saturday afternoon. It wasn't what I expected either especially with the long lines. We didn't encounter too long of lines (maybe 2/3 people ahead of us) but it still takes time. The videos are long. The people ahead of us did not have the same villain story that we did so it wasn't ruined for us, luckily. We were in Fantasyland and had an Ursula story. We also saw people with stacks of cards; including a lot of older men. :confused3 I did like that the different cards had different attacks. That was neat but overall I agree with your thoughts. I'll do it again in the summer with my Dad but I don't think it would be something I have to do each time I'm at MK.

Cute pictures from the parade and the sorcerer's thing. I already forget what its called. sheesh! :rotfl:

I am putting up a disclaimer that anyone who doesn't want to have the game spoiled should not read this post!

I went back and forth, back and forth, back and forth. Should I read it? Should I not? Should I? Shouldn't I.

Oh, what the heck. Let's read it.

I am serious!

Okay! Man, I don't think I want to get on your bad side! ;)

If you want to bypass it, it's fine just know we ended up not enjoying it as much as we thought we would.

Oh, great! Now it's spoiled! Well, I guess I might as well keep reading then. Thanks little miss spoiler.

Just kidding! Really!

So we left off after I had sobered up on Star Tours :thumbsup2

If ya gotta sober up, it might as well be on a motion sickness inducing ride. Next time try orange mission space.

Once there we jumped in the long line :headache: Yes long lines would become a common thing with this game...

Ugh. I don't do lines if I can help it. That's why God invented morning EMH and fast passes. I didn't have to stand in line for KP missions... and that was a blast! This doesn't sound like a blast, to me.

By this point we were getting tired and just wanted this to be over :headache:

Wow. Talk a bout a shining endorsement. Not. :sad2:

Mom looked over the counter at the counter service and it looked like they had a bottle of rum sitting on a counter  Mom was about to say something because alcohol isn't supposed to be allowed in MK but I told her it must be vanilla syrup:confused3 We never found out what it was :confused3

Geez Caitlin, here you are all 21 and everything and you didn't go find out? :confused3

:lmao:

After this we headed back home to our hotel for the night. But first we had a popcorn stop.

But of course you did! popcorn::

We were headed back during the parade so we had to wait to cross the street and were directed by CMs out. It was quite efficient!

You know, a lot of people complain about Disney. The lines are too long, you have to walk too far, blah, blah, blah.

But the amount of coordination that goes into it is really quite amazing.

Overall we just didn't like it. It isn't as detailed as KP at Epcot and with all of the long lines the surprise was continuously ruined before you even got to do it. If you are interested go early in the morning either at park opening or if there are morning EMH. Yes it might ruin your first ride on Space or that coveted Splash or BTMRR fast pass but if you want to give it a fair chance you need to go during a low crowd time.

I think I'll give it a pass. Thanks for the heads up.

When we got back to the room I started getting ready for the race. "Mom what suitcase are my tennis shoes in?"

Uh, oh. Can't wait to see what happens, thanks for the chapter! :goodvibes

I hope you had a great trip!

I am glad your game wasn't ruined by the people ahead of you! The videos are really long though. I thought it would be some quick thing but unfortunately it didn't happen that way :confused3

I feel the same way. I think my dad would think its cool but only if we have time on our next trip.

Cute pictures from the parade and the sorcerer's thing. I already forget what its called. sheesh! :rotfl:

Thank you!

Glad you decided to read it!

Okay! Man, I don't think I want to get on your bad side! ;)

;) Some people have found that out the hard way :rolleyes1

Oh, great! Now it's spoiled! Well, I guess I might as well keep reading then. Thanks little miss spoiler.

Just kidding! Really!

Well our readers deserve the truth!

If ya gotta sober up, it might as well be on a motion sickness inducing ride. Next time try orange mission space.

I remember standing in line and thinking "Should I really do this?" I remember sitting in the ride thinking "Should I really do this?" I remember thinking during the ride "Please don't let me be sick!" Luckily I was fine :rotfl: and since I had another FP I figured why not?!

Ugh. I don't do lines if I can help it. That's why God invented morning EMH and fast passes. I didn't have to stand in line for KP missions... and that was a blast! This doesn't sound like a blast, to me.

Agreed! I think it would have been a lot better if there weren't any lines.

Wow. Talk a bout a shining endorsement. Not. :sad2:

I know I want to love everything Disney but oh well :confused3

Geez Caitlin, here you are all 21 and everything and you didn't go find out? :confused3

I should have!

They are quite effecient!

I think I'll give it a pass. Thanks for the heads up.

Next chapter coming up!

Happy Mother's Day to all of the Mothers reading this TR! Thank you for everything you do for your children and know that it is appreciated!

Life has been pretty hectic around here! I am now working two jobs and trying to have a social life :worried: I got my school grades back and I got a 3.7! Plus we made some changes to our September/October trip. Due to some financial aid issues with school we had to cut back some so no GF  Instead we have 1 night at Art of Animation 4 at Saratoga Springs and 1 at BWV. I mean it isn't horrible but the GF will be missed!

So on to an update....

When I left off I had asked my mom about my shoes. Well if y'all remember back to our first post..I went to the gym the morning we left...I wore my running shoes...I was supposed to pack them after I was done at the gym.. I didn't... So yes I was going to run a 5k and did not have any shoes to run in :scared1: I didn't realize this until the morning though so I would have to wear a pair of my mom's shoes. She wears a size bigger than me and the shoes that fit me best weren't exactly running shoes... :sad2: Yes they were tennis shoes but not running shoes. So after quite a few tense moments I was ready and we headed out to the bus stop.

When we got there it was still dark out and we were hungry!

disneyday3001.jpg

The last time I did this they had a tent with muffins and different things but this time they only had nutragrain bars. I didn't end up having anything and we stood around looking at all of the different tents.

disneyday3002.jpg

I thought it was awesome that they had Maximus there!

disneyday3004.jpg

The starting line was also Tangled themed

disneyday3005.jpg

disneyday3007.jpg

While we were standing there I figured I should take a picture while I still looked cute :rotfl:

disneyday3010.jpg

After a while of stretching and bending the shoes to get them more worn in, it was time for me to line up. I hugged Mom and she wished me luck. I had to take a picture of this couple. While the outfits were cute the woman was running in sandals?!

disneyday3012.jpg

After about 20 minutes they were ready to start counting down!!!

disneyday3013.jpg

And we were off! I had about a four or five minute wait before my area was actually moving but once we were moving we went throughout the Epcot parking lot. I was running as hard as I could in these shoes and once inside Epcot I stopped for a picture.

disneyday3014.jpg

I thought it was awesome that they were out! I had never seen Shang before!

There were a few characters spaced out but I only stopped for ones I had never seen before :thumbsup2 That led me to America.

disneyday3015.jpg

Isn't that John Smith handsome?! I kept running throughout Epcot and let me tell you the bridge is horrible! It is pretty steep! FINALLY I saw the finish line ahead of me!

I loved all of the cheering and all of the CMs it was very motivating! Once I crossed the finish line I figured out my time and it was...

23:50! Which isn't bad considering I wasn't wearing my usual shoes :rotfl: I met back up with Mom, got my medal and my box of goodies and we took off for the buses! We were both starving!

Instead of riding back to POR we went to POFQ. There was a breakfast there with my name on it! Outside they had their Mardi Gras CM greeting the returning runners.

disneyday3016.jpg

We headed inside and made a bee line for

disneyday3017.jpg

Mom had

disneyday3018.jpg

I had

disneyday3019.jpg

If you can't tell those are beignets!!! THEY ARE SOOOOO GOOD! Like little fluffy pieces of powdered sugar covered clouds :worship: It might not have been the healthiest breakfast but it was the BEST :thumbsup2 That and a cup of coffee got me back to normal and after we were done we headed back to POR to pack!

Up next changing hotels..How will POP compare to POR?

I remember standing in line and thinking "Should I really do this?" I remember sitting in the ride thinking "Should I really do this?" I remember thinking during the ride "Please don't let me be sick!" Luckily I was fine :rotfl: and since I had another FP I figured why not?!

So you're sitting there the whole time trying not to revisit dinner... and what do you do? Ride it again.

:lmao:

I am now working two jobs and trying to have a social life :worried:

Oh, to have a nice quite life again. You want hectic? Talk to your mom about having kids!

It is mother's day.

Go ahead. Ask. I'll wait...

....

See? Hectic!

I got my school grades back and I got a 3.7! Plus we made some changes to our September/October trip. Due to some financial aid issues with school we had to cut back some so no GF  Instead we have 1 night at Art of Animation 4 at Saratoga Springs and 1 at BWV. I mean it isn't horrible but the GF will be missed!

Too bad on no GF. But you're still going, so it's all good, right?

Well if y'all remember back to our first post..I went to the gym the morning we left

uh oh...

...I wore my running shoes...I was supposed to pack them after I was done at the gym.. I didn't...

You didn't mention, but, how were your feet afterwards or even during?

While we were standing there I figured I should take a picture while I still looked cute :rotfl:

uh huh. You do know that it's not possible to take a pic of you or your mom and not look cute, right?

While the outfits were cute the woman was running in sandals?!

Did she actually run? Or was she more of a walker?

I thought it was awesome that they were out! I had never seen Shang before!

'cause it's not his thang.

Isn't that John Smith handsome?!

meh. He doesn't do anything for me. :confused3

Once I crossed the finish line I figured out my time and it was...

23:50! Which isn't bad considering I wasn't wearing my usual shoes :rotfl:

Hey! That's almost exactly the same time I get over that distance.

'course I'm driving my car... but still.

If you can't tell those are beignets!!! THEY ARE SOOOOO GOOD! Like little fluffy pieces of powdered sugar covered clouds :worship:

I've heard a lot about the POFQ beignets, but even though we stayed at POR and visited POFQ... never had any.

It might not have been the healthiest breakfast but it was the BEST

Yeah. You just ran a marathon.... you really need to worry about your carb intake this morning. :sad2:

Up next changing hotels..How will POP compare to POR?

Curious to hear your comparison. Thanks for the chapter! :goodvibes

Too bad about your shoes but that was still a pretty good time. Congrats!

We have met that CM at POFQ both times we have stayed there. He is great!

So you're sitting there the whole time trying not to revisit dinner... and what do you do? Ride it again.

:lmao:

Of course! :thumbsup2 After I survived the first time I figured the second couldn't hurt :rotfl: Plus if I hadn't gone the second time I would never have been chosen as the Rebel Spy :thumbsup2

Oh, to have a nice quite life again. You want hectic? Talk to your mom about having kids!

It is mother's day.

Go ahead. Ask. I'll wait...

....

See? Hectic!

Oh I know she knows hectic too! I couldn't imagine having a kid and working 40+ hours a week :furious: that would be my head exploding :rotfl:

Too bad on no GF. But you're still going, so it's all good, right?

True but there are still a lot of logistics we have to work out so I think there will be a few more changes to the plans before we are set :worried:

uh oh...

You didn't mention, but, how were your feet afterwards or even during?

They weren't that bad but I had to be awfully careful with my footing. After though they hurt like heck!

uh huh. You do know that it's not possible to take a pic of you or your mom and not look cute, right?

Why thank you!

Did she actually run? Or was she more of a walker?

I never saw her again so she must have run! They were up near the front of the pack so she was supposed to be one of the fast ones :confused3

'cause it's not his thang.

:rolleyes2:rotfl:

meh. He doesn't do anything for me. :confused3

:rotfl:

Hey! That's almost exactly the same time I get over that distance.

You need to try them!

Yeah. You just ran a marathon.... you really need to worry about your carb intake this morning. :sad2:

I suppose...

Curious to hear your comparison. Thanks for the chapter! :goodvibes

It will be a surprising comparison!

Too bad about your shoes but that was still a pretty good time. Congrats!

We have met that CM at POFQ both times we have stayed there. He is great!

Thank you! I am so anxious for my ten mile in 4 months!!!!!

He was very nice and I was very excited to see him!

Cute running outfit and yummy looking breakfast. Running without your own shoes must have been tough, don't you hate it when you forget something important?

I hope you eventually got your shoes back. Our first day, Jeff went to the gym, met us at the pool, put his shoes under the chair and we never saw them again....he had bought them right before we left:sad:

Great pics and great time considering the shoe issue! Love how they have characters out you normally wouldn't see....and yes, that John Smith is very handsome!

I love your breakfast choice....I am dying to try those....one of these trips!

Great job on the run! That stinks about your shoes, but at least you ha a solution! I would've forgotten my shoes too:lmao:I'm forgetful like that:sad2: Haha I should really do a Disney run one day! Lots of character meets!

Dawn, Happy Mother's Day!!!

So sorry about the change in plans, but you are still staying at great resorts!!!!

I'm sorry that your plans had to change. That said, at least you're still going, right? That's always a plus. ;)

Why is it that we always forget the things that we need the most? I would have panicked and freaked out if I didn't have the running shoes that I needed.

You're so funny! "I had to take a picture while I was still cute". You're always cute. ;)

OMG!!! I can't believe you forgot your shoes! Did you have any blisters or anything after you ran?
How far did you run?
That would be cool to run around EPCOT with no one there...

Bummer about no more GF but hey, the Art of Animation should be fun. All the pictures I've seen look AMAZING. And you know how I feel about SSR and the BW. :thumbsup2

The race looks like a lot of fun. So cute about the Tangled theme. I love that movie.
