Destin Beach question

I hope I have this on the right board. We are driving to WDW and back from TEXAS in June. We are going to stay 2 nights at Destin/Fort Walton beach on the way back. I looked at the hotels and they are all fairly expensive per night. We want to stay on the beach, a hotel with direct access to the beach. It will be me, DW, 2 DS (7 & 9). I am looking for a nice hotel but at a decent price. Anybody out there that can help me?

How about a condo for the two nights -- you can go to
123byowner.com -- Click on Florida - then the Panhandle area - then Destin. Some of them rent by the day - this website was helpful when we were looking for a place to stay in Panama City Beach. Hope that this helps!!!

Hi,

Have you looked at the HolidayInn Destin? That's right on the beach and a popular place for families. We stayed in Sandestin a year ago at the Sandestin Beach and Golf Club Bay Club. That's a mouthful.

Anyway, the Sandestin Beach Club is wayyyy expensive. However, the Bay Club is the only tmeshare rental on the property and it is afforable, but it is the on bay side of the state highway. You have to drive amile to get to the Gulf side and use the private beach. This was no problem for us. The Sandestin Beach Club is beautiful and you would think you were at a Disney resort.

We loved it there. I think they take the entertainment card, too. The ent card was not good when we went cuz it was a holiday.

BTW, Sandestin is 8 miles east of the town of Destin.

We rented a 2 bdrm. timeshare in Orlando at the Marriott Grande Vista for a week on this trip. I found a great deal. I will check on the possibility at Destin. I think I saw the Hilton Sandestin on Priceline for about $100. I will check that out as well. We were looking at the Sheraton Four Points in Fort Walton but $140 seems high but I guess it is probably a good deal. I will keep checking places out. Thanks for the info.
