Hi Girls! What do you think I should do for rehearsal? Dinner or the dessert party?

Any Idea how much this will cost? My FMIL offered to pay for this so I just want to give her a heads up on how much it will cost.I hope it's not too much and would'nt cost more than a rehearsal dinner if we were doing it at home.

You could do something with a fixed cost like Ohana or 1900 Park Fare. It depends on how many guests you have!
I'm doing an intimate wedding so we have no rehearsal. However, we are all going to Ohana the night before the wedding.

We had a Dessert Party for our Wedding -

$200 site rental fee
$75 Outdoor Set up Fee (for Chairs and Tables)
$100 bartender charge (this is waived if your bar sales exceed $500)
$12pp Beer and Wine Bar
$7pp Soft Drinks Bar (for the under 21s)
$24.50pp for our dessert choices
$12.50pp for Illuminations viewing fee (unless you ask people to use their passes)

Ours for 26 people (19 Adults/7 under 21's) came to around $1500 including tax and service charge as all my guests used their passes to get in.

But you can do a cheaper bar/menu than we did.

We did Ohanas for our welcome dinner Which was $25.99 Per Adult and $11.99 per child under 9. For the same group ours came to about $800 but that didnt include any alcohol!

We had the same question. I think we are going to do the Dessert party for our rehearsal just because I can not have one on my wedding day! :( We are planning on sending out letters stating that for dinner to eat lite and save room for dessert because we are having a dessert "welcome" party (rehearsal) for everyone.

We were going to do a Dinner Show (Hoop de ) but I don't want to be confind to sitting. I want people up moving around and getting to know one another.

We choose the Epcot 'Fantasmic" show and dessert party just because I have alot of little children and i want it to be fun and entertaining. Not stuck in a sit trying to have convs. Good luck w/ figuring it out.

I wanted a dessert party too instead of a rehearsal dinner. However, a rehearsal dinner at 'Ohana for 70 people would be WAY cheaper than an Illuminations DP :)

Good luck!

We had a rehearsal dinner at Cape May in the BC just for the bridal party and parents and then everyone (100) was invited to a dessert party in Epcot after.
If I had to choose, I would go with the dessert party. Our guests loved it and are still talking about how much fun they had. It's a once in a life time experience.
Good Luck !

Was this the Fantasmic at Epcot? How was the atmosphere and what desserts did you have? Do you have any pictures?

We are having a rehersal/welcome dinner at Ariel's. The FILs wanted to have something more substantial than desserts for the guests. DFTW was great with helping me plan it. I went through menus and came up with a variety of pastas, ceasar salad, bread, mini pastries slection for dessert and tea and coffee for about $40/person. They gave me options based on what i wanted that ranged from $25-$50/person. It was very easy to set up.

It was Epcot, French Island upper terrace. The atmosphere is beautiful, we picked several different desserts, fruit display, cheese display and beer, wine and soda.
We did advise people what was being served and they made the decision to eat before or not but it was alot of food. I will look for pictures to post.
Good Luck.

I am not sure on price wise. I know my FIL's said they would pay for the rehearsal dinner. SO I decided to have it at O'hana's so it would be a fixed rate per person....

Thanks for the info girls.I think that I am just going to go with Ohana's. It sounds cool.
