It seems to me in Disneyland there is a location where you can have a wonderful dessert buffet in an exclusive area (somewhere around Pirates of the Caribbean) that allows you a primo view while watching the fireworks. Is there such a deal at Disneyworld?

Thanks in advance!!! :earsboy:

Yes. However it requires being part of a Grand Gatherings Group. There are two possibilities.

The first starts at the Contemporary Dock about 1.5 hours before Wishes! There is an area set up next to the dock with the bufft and visited by Captain Hook and Mr. Smee. After about 3/4 hours of eating, visiting, photo ops, etc., you are given a very large chocolate chip cookie and board the boat, which seats about 100. The members of your GGG are assigned specific seating area. There is a "Pirate" on the boat who leads in fun and games (with prizes). The boat will pull out and anchor near the Electric Water Pageant while it is showing outside Wilderness Lodge. Then it will go over the bridge into Seven Seas Lagoon and anchor on the extended centerline of Main Street. The music and narration will be heard through the boat's speaker system. After Wishes! are over, the boat will go back to Bay Lake and the Contemporary Dock and be met by Peter Pan. The cost, last time I went, was $30 per person.

The other is the Epcot International Buffet which starts at about 6:45. It is in the World Showplace (former Millennium Village). Your group is preassigned to one or more specific tables. There are four large buffet tables, each featuring the foods of a different country. During the evening there are acouple of "Streetmosphee" people holding interviews and making sure a good time is had by all. There are children's games and visits by characters. About 8:30 the entire group is led to the water-level landing area at either UK or France, where a buffet with bevrages is set up and available until the end of IllumiNations. Last time I went the cost was $60 per person.

All of the attendees to each of these gets a pin. I do not know if there is any discounted price for children.

For BF's birthday, I rented a pontoon boat and they decorated it for his birthday with a banner and streamers and stuff! :bday: (This was not affiliated with the Magical Gatherings..).There was also a huge yummy cake waiting for us on the boat! They took up out to see the water parade, and then moved right in front of the castle for our own private viewing of Wishes! It was AMAZING! I know you can book these certain "fireworks cruises" and that they don't have to be themed for a birthday. If you call the WDW-PLAY a CM will let you know all the options, and there are a lot of them! It wasn't too, too expensive, and the boat can hold up to like 10 people, I believe. It was one of the best things we did that trip (besides the Segway tour... :goodvibes )

So here's the cheap version....there is an Ice Cream shop on the corner of Main Street that makes the most fabulous old time sundaes. I've gotten one of those and sat on Main Street to watch the fireworks! ;)

Now, as far as real desserts, if the Contemporary and Polynesian still pump in music and dim the lights, dessert here while watching would be nice. However, they might not let you do just dessert before the fireworks because they get so full during this time.
