I'm pretty sure I know the answer already... but the new Minion ride, and the Transformers rides are both "motion simulators" like HP and Simpsons.. correct? If so.. there goes two more that I won't be able to enjoy with my blasted motion sickness!!!! :headache:

They both are motion simulators but I think dm has stationary seating and transformers is more like Spiderman than hp

Just rode Transformers using AP early entry. It is a motion simulator and I forgot to take my Dramamine this morning. If you are prone to motion sickness take something for it before coming to the park. The ride is like Spider-Man in UPS and I rode that yesterday after taking Dramamine with no problem, today on Transformer I got motion sick enough that I wouldn't ride it a second time because I hadn't taken Dramamine. It is am excellent ride and I highly recommend it!

So we have no experience with anti-nauseants but dh and dd had probs with the Simpsons and FJ to a lesser extent. All I know is gravol, which also works to out us to sleep. Is dramamine better? Or something else maybe? Also is it easy to find a kid sized dose? (Is it a tablet or a liquid? )

Thanks...

Dramamine is the same formulation as Gravol. What you want to try is Less Drowsy Dramamine or Bonine or any generic meclazine.

I use the less drowsy formula of Dramamine and for me it works wonders. With out it I get sick looking at a picture of a ship on rough water.

Another thing to try is ginger. I use ginger capsules; you can find them in the vitamin section of any drug store. Start taking one tablet two nights before, and continue. Some people take one in the morning and one at night; I find one at night is sufficient.

Thanks folks. I will check out the pharmaceutical options. Dh is also likely to appreciate the ginger idea (I used ginger when I was pg).

One thing though. You can't buy the meclazine drugs in Canada for some reason. You have to buy them in the US. All the drugstores and Walmart and Target have them.

In Canada all the anti nauseants are Dimenhydrinate‎ based.

Ah, damo, thanks for that, maybe that's why we have so little luck with gravol. I will wait til we get there then to buy something...

We chew ginger gum. My mom also wears these wrist bands to help with motion sickness ( she bought them for a cruise and she could dance the night away on some very rough seas). She forgot to put her bands on one evening, but just sat in the stationary seats on DM and she was fine with that.

I use ginger, which works wonders for me. One year my then-husband and I brought the kids to Universal. My husband, one of my kids, and I all took the non-drowsy dramamine and we ALL wanted to sleep for the next 24 hours. :scared1: More than likely you wouldn't have that experience, but make sure you try anything out first at home to see how it makes you feel.

Because of that possibility, I always start whatever medication (meclizine, ginger, whatever, in the evening, so if it makes me sleepy, that's OK!

So upset... I HATE BEING DEFECTIVE!!!! At least the rest of my family will be able to enjoy them!!!

Lol, I know the feeling! Especially since the spinning-upside-down-crazy rides were my favorite until my 20's ... I used to pity my mom who couldn't go on any of them, and now I'm turning into her with adult-onset motion-sickness! :faint:

Does anyone else feel like the "eye level" in DM is too low? Makes me cringe because i feel like I'm going to smack my face into everything, lol!

What's worse... I think I'm getting more and more afflicted as I get older
