Just booked a 4 night stay in an Island Suite at Buena Vista Palace. Looking for some first hand information on the suite and the half bathroom. Is there a lot of privacy and space between the bedroom and living room. We will be a mixed bunch staying here and I currently have 2 rooms booked at Comfort Inn Lake Buena Vista but I really would prefer to stay someplace nice. But we can't afford 2 rooms in a lot of "nicer" places and the suite would be perfect since it has a bathroom and a half. Would really appreciate any photos of suite. Have looked already in all the usual places.:thumbsup2
Also, the Google Earth site has me totally confused. It still lists Grosvernor Hotel (which I thought was now the Regal Sun) but shows the Regal Sun next to Grosvernor. Why is there a covered walkway to the neighboring hotel...whatever it is called? Is that part of BV Palace? Where are the pools from BVP..I only see one right by the towers..??

I just booked one of these suites too. Decided to stay at the Nick hotel for 2 nights on our sea world days and switch over here (after getting a deal on Travelzoo) for our Disney Days. I'm wondering aobut the suite as well, but also the walking to downtown disney and the transportation.

We ended up spending 2 nights in Island Suites this past summer. It was ok. We had a one Bedroom suite in Island Suites. I liked the location being near to DTD however the Island Suites was quite a walk from parking, buses, tower building etc. It was only close to pool which we did not even use ! Unfortunately our suite smelled SO BADLY from cigarette smoke when we checked in. We complained to housekeeping who was right next door. Someone came in and sprayed a gallon of spray air freshener into the vents and apologized then left. It continued to reek of smoke the entire time. We had "Grandma" with us who was less than impressed. But we perservered. The suite itself was nice and spacious with a fridge (frozen solid and not working), microwave, bathroom and a half (real nice feature), as well as two balconies. Beds were only so-so in terms of comfort. Two nights on them were more than enough for my bad back.
The Suites are in a seperate building behind the tower closer to the Regal Sun. It is a rather long walk with suitcases and Grandma. No one mentioned that at check in nor if there was any transportation to the other building. We ended up dropping Grandma and the kids off on the side of the road opposite DTD and walked in from there as it was shorter than from the "parking lot". The parking lot was a JOKE! There were about a dozen spots available for self parking in the lot closest to covered walkway. There was another lot on the other side of the resort which was a very very long walk ! I do not think I could have tolerated the inconvenience for much longer. I personally did not terribly mind the walk but the aggrevation of not being able to park or even easily turn around when there were no spots was annoying. There are too many other resorts in this area so I probably would not bother with this one again.
