Anyone got any tips and or advice for staying at Ginn Hammock Beach Club Resort on the Palm Coast ?

We want to stay there for a few days after our Disney cruise (rather than returning to Orlando) but I'm finding it really difficult to make sense of this place, let alone book anything !!!:headache:. :headache:

..... for a start there seems to be several resorts within this resort, which do not necessarily have access to the great looking waterpark - one of the main reasons we want to stay there. From what I do understand we would need to be staying at the "Resort Club" and not Cinnamon Beach or the "Harbour" or any other sub resort. :confused3

Booking through the resort is expensive, and booking through hotel agent sites looks like a nightmare as it seems that you might get allocated accommodation one of these sub resorts - in particular Cinnamon Beach which is actually nearly 3 miles from the main hotel. :headache:

Ideally we'd like to rent a private condo in the main club area, but I can find only 2 private condos that appear to be at the "Club" ...one of which hasn't responded to my enquiry
......although I would rule out booking through an accommodation website, I would prefer a private rental, not least because we can see exactly where we'd be staying and also be able to double check the location and access to the waterpark.

I've looked through the entire Vrbo, Homeaway and Greatrentals sites to no avail......

PLEASE HELP !!!!...I am soooo frustrated at not being able to find anything.
Trip Advisor has failed to yeild much information either.

Has anyone got any further information and/or advice for me ?????

While I have not stayed here myself, 2 friends from work have stayed here and they both just called the hotel directly. In fact, I called on their behalf once and told the reservationist what rate I saw online and they honored it. Trying this might be your best bet to ensure you get the right thing and eliminate the confusion...

Thanks for the suggestion - do you think they would honour the rates given by a private owner ?

Best quote I have from a private owner for 3 days in Feb is $700 (after President's week) for a 3 bed condo near the waterpark...this rate includes everything (taxes, passes, cleaning etc.). Though we are only a party of 2 adults & 2 children so do not necessarily need 3 beds (but this was the only private renter I could find !)...but we do want a kitchen !

....the best rate for a 3 bed condo off an accommodation only website is around $800 but that is not necessarily in the same place (I have my suspicions it could well be in the Cinnamon Beach sub- resort )..and does not necessarily exclude all local fees & taxes etc. :headache:

An enquiry made direct with the Hammock resort itself yeilded the following answer....but I'm very confused over the type and location of the accommodation :confused3

Thank you for inquiring about another stay at Hammock Beach Resort. The prices for Feb. 20-23 are listed below:

Rates inclusive of taxes and resort fees are listed as well.
1 bedroom ocean view suite $199++ per evening ($240.24)
2 bedroom tropical view villa $199++ per evening ($240.24
2 bedroom ocean view suite $249++ per evening ($300.60)
3 bedroom ocean view suite $289++ per evening ($348.90)

All rooms besides the one bedrooms will have a full size kitchen.

So what to do ?.........any thoughts anyone ????

They probably wont honor a private owner rate, as the rates I got them to honor before were from hotels.com, etc. If it were me I would just book the 2 bedroom for $240 a night and not sweat the $20. This way you know what you're getting, and you dont have the hassle of going through a private owner. Its a fantastic resort, and I think you'll find its been worth the stress when you get there;)

Thanks for that Deej696 :goodvibes

Did your friends book the 2 bedroom accommodations ?...and if they did, do you happen to know exactly where they were located - ie in the main building or some other part of the complex ? :confused3

I believe that they were in the main building both times, although I seem to recall one guy saying he was in a building off to the side on the golf course? That may have been at Ginn Reunion, as one guy has stayed at both. Either way, neither guy said anything about not being able to use the main pool, etc. Both in fact raved about the resort, and cant believe that I have not stayed there yet...
