I think you are referring to the birthday party at the Plaza Inn with Pat E Cake. Yes, they still have this and it is $15.95 per person (or close to that). I can't post the link right now, but hopefully someone else can. :-)

Right, that information is in my post. And the link is there too. :)

Hi,
I was wondering if the birthday party at the Plaza Inn is at a certain time each day? And if so, do you know what time it is at? Thanks so much for any info!:)

2pm & weekends they also offer it I believe at 4pm.

We thought it was a huge waste of money......would never spend that much money for what you get.......will use that kind of money for a good time at a character meal!

Yes, definitely good to know - thank you so much for the info! We were thinking of doing this with DS5 on his birthday, but now I'm thinking twice - maybe we'll apply it to a character meal instead like you suggested!

Our reasons for feeling like this:

We paid $15.99 per person (almost the price of a kids character meal)
It's about 40 mins (you can get 90 mins at a character meal)
Depending where you sit (or the path the host Pat E. Cake makes) you may never see him near your table. (the characters come to each table at the meals)
Mickey & Minnie come near the end, do a quick congo line & then you line up for pics (these are done very quickly & you are NOT allowed to get autographs)
The cake was dry & the frosting stained everything, we left with a 3 yr old with red eyebrows (wiping hair from face)

The character meals offer different styles, different types of characters, different food choices & you get some quality character time.

When we found our 3yr old & 8yr old did not have a great time at the Pat E. Cake Birthday Celebration Party....we were disappointed. They both had a blast at all the character meals we did.

This was our experience & our opinion. Some people have really enjoyed the party but we found it was way over-priced & rushed.

Financially you pay for this then have to do lunch later where as you could do a character meal for the cost of the party and burgers. As you see some kids were really active and others just sat there. I would say it depends on whether the kid is an artist and loves to play with food and colors.

Goofy's kitchen and check you tube for others.

Thank you SO much DizNee Luver for your description of the experience and mechurchlady for the YouTube links! Based on both of these things, I think we are going to scrap this idea and do a character meal instead. It just doesn't look like something DS5 would be into, but I would have had NO idea if it weren't for you two!

Thank you again - I absolutely LOVE this board!!:lovestruc

You are very welcome. I try very hard to see things from many viewpoints. Last night I sat at dinner and did not just dine but looked at things from other viewpoints. I saw bench seating for pooh sized people, the good lighting for those with vision problems, and even how the ribs were resting on the California slaw as that might bother some people.

I would love to do this one time just to experience it as I have not yet done so. IT might be fun to decorate a cake but I can get character interaction all over the parks for free.

I hope you have fun and try Goofy's or the one at PCH which has great food.

You're very welcome....I hope your son has the best birthday ever...but how could he not....he'll be at Disneyland!!!!!

Which is the best character meal and worth the money?

Which is the best character meal and worth the money?
The Minnie Breakfast at Plaza Inn as it is about $25 per adult and you get all you can eat breakfast pastries, cereal, milk, juice, fruit, waffles, pancakes, and breakfast meats. They ahve 10 to 20 meet and greets with characters every time and some popular characters like hook, Chip, Dale, Minnie, and Fairy Godmother.

They made me a gluten free meal once. i got 3 or 4 mini mickey waffles, watermelon and other fruit, all I could drink, ham, bacon, sausage, and hash browns but could have had so much more like omelets. I was full all day.
