Grumpy: Me, a 32 year old technical instructor for an alive and kicking dot com. Six trips to Disneyland and third to WDW

Goofy: 43 year old DW, Comp Sci student. Three trips to DL, 20th trip to WDW

Bashful: 7 year old DD. Two trips to DL, 2nd trip to WDW

Left Phoenix at 9:30pm to Vegas, I sat in 1st while DW & DD were in coach. There's no way I can sleep in coach and I they've been upgraded on the way back when they'll be awake to enjoy it. I sat next to an Engineer and we talked about AIs and Neural networks which was a big change from sitting next to a salesman. The stop in Vegas was slightly longer than planned do to a minor repair needing to be done but it didn't make us late. The Taco Bell's that are open at 11pm have the slowest people in the world working for them, It was impossible to get anything other than a preheated hot dog without waiting 20 minutes and the line was pretty short.

The flight from Vegas to Orlando left at 11:30pm and they decided to play a movie. This of course interferred with the sleep we were planning on getting before hitting the parks in the morning. We also disover that they had no intention of serving breakfast on this flight either! Once we get off the plane, we spot a Cinnabon and get a few buns. It's been a long time since I've had once, for forgotten reasons that will become apparent later.

On getting into Orlando, I stopped at the Disney Store and bought my annual pass (AP). This was the real AP, not a voucher. I also stopped at the Universal Store and bought a multi-day ticket which the person at the counter said was good for early entry. Bzzt! Wrong! But more on that in the IoA trip report.

The original plan called for us to go from the airport to MGM in order to validate the AP. SInce I had a real one, we could check into Fort Wilderness. When we arrived, we noticed the parking lot was packed! We had to park several rows away in order to get to the check in area. We later found out that this is where people park any car they bring down attached to an RV if they are staying at a camp site. I applaud Disney for providing this room but two thumbs down for not providing a few spaces for people to park while they are checking in.

The lobby was pretty small but with a rustic theme and there was a TV going where kids could while away the time while mom & dad wait in line. We had a relatively short wait before checking in. We were given info on what to expect of the resort, since it's not a usual Disney resort, and I also wasn't asked to show my AP. We were assigned cabin 2802 which was fairly close to the bus stop for the loop we were on. My only complaint with it was a lack of drainage after a thunderstorm later in the week. Our driveway was flooded. Yes, you do park your car right up against the cabin and there's 30 feet or so between cabins. It's a lot quieter than most of Disney's resorts. We were able to drop our stuff off at our cabin at 9:30am so we did so and hit the parks!

Wow I'm impressed after flying all night you were able to hit the parks right away. You must have been exhausted! Looking forward to reading the rest!:D

I would have fallen asleep as soon as I got to WDW!! I definitely couldn't have done a park. You guys are real troopers!!:)
