Anyone know where the executive rooms (2 q w/ sofa bed) are located? Are they toward the back in the courtyard with the standard sized rooms? Also, I'm curious how these rooms compare size wise to other 2queen rooms on Harbor.

This doesn't exactly answer your question but I've booked those rooms twice and always got upgraded to the parlor suite (i think that's what it's called) with the 2Q + sofa bed in a separate room.

We don't stay at the Desert Inn anymore after a stay when they worked on our room while we were out without any notice and moved a bunch of our stuff around, an item was also removed from our room (my son's stuffed squid - of all things) and the front desk wasn't very helpful about it and our van got scratched in the parking lot (not the hotel's fault, I know, but just the icing on the cake). I have to say, I'm pretty bitter about the missing squid.

The one year we had booked one it was towards the front. First elevator and then a right turn even.

We've been fans and stayed there each year for over 10 years, but this year was probably our last too.

We had to change our dates and because the website wasn't working I did call in the cancellation. Then suddenly end of October I got a message to call them urgently about a reservation - which I did thinking it was the new one. Turns out they tried to charge me for the cancelled one as a no show and couldn't cause the card was denied. The card used on that one had been hacked and cancelled. Of course seeing the reservation was no longer active I did not update the info with the hotel. I was threatened to give card info or the second reservation would be cancelled. This one had the correct card info.

After 4 overseas calls I finally reached the manager who said he wwould fix things. Confirmed new card info, gave backup card info to be sure.

Then three days before our arrival I get an e-mail saying to urgently call them because... the card was denied. I hate to say it, but I had a meltdown in the middle of Animal Kingdom.

Turned out they had tried to charge an old card that had been used at a prior stay which expired several years ago. Why they still had it on file is still a mystery to me a month later.

No apology or anything when we arrived.

Had this not been Avengers race weekend we would have cancelled our stay there, but three days before it was impossible to find another room.

Our Executive Room back in January was all the way at the back of the property in the courtyard. As far as comparison, it was definitely bigger than the 2Q rooms at Del Sol to accommodate the fold-out couch and coffee table.

Not exactly your question, but we stayed in a Parlour Suite, which is one room up from Executive (has a front room with a sofa bed...which our daughter ended up using). This room is spacious and nicely located with the elevator being not too far back from the pool (and our room half way between the elevators and Harbor). It was not Four Seasons but we enjoyed our stay at DI&S.

We were just there for Thanksgiving week and the room we had was towards the back on the second floor. It was the 2q with sofa bed and felt roomy enough for my family of 4, we were very happy staying there for the 1st time!
