We are staying at the Desert Inn & Suites but we will have two cars and they only provide parking for one. Is there anywhere with long term parking or a decent daily parking price where we could park our extra car nearby? I emailed them and they said that there is parking at the Hilton for $17 a day.

Thanks!

You can ask Anaheim Plaza. They have a huge parking lot. They may let you and it's much closer than Hilton. I'm not saying they will let you but it couldn't hurt to ask

Anaheim Plaza charges $4 a day I believe, but if they did let you park there they might charge you more than that as you are not staying in their hotel. The other thing I would know to do would be to park your second car in a public lot, but then you'd have to drive back and forth to it.

We aren't planning on doing much if any driving so we mainly just need some place to park the car. I emailed Anaheim plaza to see if they would let an off site guest park there. So I'll wait and see what they say. Does anyone know of a public parking place nearby with long term parking? Has anyone used the Amtrak parking at Angles Stadium?

Just hoping the OP will come back and let us know the outcome. We're staying there in Oct, and while it's not an issue for DH and I, I do have other relatives staying there and they might have the same problem as the OP.

I even emailed DI&S and they said absolutely only 1 car per room. I even offered to pay for the extra car but they said that the Hilton was where they tell people to go for $17. I am hoping that there is a more cost effective alternative! Kind of crazy considering that the suites they rent out can hold a lot of people! (We are 6 adults and 2 kids that just happen to be driving).

Well, if you're willing to drive to and from the Amtrak station why not just as I suggested earlier and park down in the public lot by the Target? You second car will be closer and that would be free.

If two families are going, you could try booking two smaller rooms. Then you can get two parking spaces. It may cost more, but if you weigh it against the cost of parking an extra car elsewhere, it may come out the same.

Is the public lot a long term parking type lot? I just wouldn't want to get towed! I don't know much about the area but I will google to see where the Target is located! Thanks!

Unfortunately, I thought that some were going to fly when I booked the reservation but the plans changed. We booked so early that the rates have now doubled or I would have just rebooked with 2 separate rooms rather than the suite.

UPDATE:

So we arrived on a Thurs evening and they told us that we could just park the extra car there that night but probably wouldn't be able to the rest of our stay. We ended up being able to park on property Thur. & Fri. night but had to move our car on Sat morning to another garage.

I am not 100% positive but I believe they parked the extra car at the Hilton. We didn't use our cars once there so it wasn't a big deal.

I'm sorry, I didn't see your additional question. I'm glad it worked out for you. :)

The parking situation is one of the things I do not like about DI&S. We had only 1 car when we stayed there and one night when DH came back after doing business in LA, there were no stalls left. They basically told him too bad. At that time they sent him to park at Desert Palm as that is their sister property. Having to park the car that far away and walk back to a motel that supposedly included parking in their room rates at that time of the night sucked big time. It still irritates me thinking about it now.

I am glad I read this thread, we have stayed at DI&S years ago in a 2Q room; so I thought the family suite or something like it would be good for our Christmas trip this year. There would be 2 maybe 3 cars for one suite. I think I would be better off booking 2 rooms somewhere else. There is no way I want to deal with nowhere to park. I don't even remember how small the parking lot was it was so long ago we stayed there. Geeesh that really stinks. :(

I don't understand how the parking can even be so bad. You would think that a hotel would make at least 1 parking spot per room and the 'suites' really are just adjoining rooms so you would think that each suite should get 2 spots. There really isn't a lot of parking and the height for the below ground parking is pretty short so beware if you drive something lifted.

I would stay there again but if traveling with a big group again I will just rent 2 rooms so that we get 2 spots.
