Describe your childhood teddy bear/stuffed animal that you carried around

It's a small Pooh Bear, but has buttons for eyes now and a sock tied on its foot because it was falling apart--its up in my room right now w/ Mrs. Beasley and a few Mickey Beanies--It was my "focal point" when I had my kids.

I have a small Pooh Bear also. It's about 6-7 inches tall, has absolutely no furr left and now has red button eyes that my grandmother sewed on him when I was about 4. There is a bell in his left ear. (You can feel it, but not hear it now) My baby book says I got it for my first Christmas in 1969. It's in my closet safe and sound. :)

I had a little white Teddy Bear about 8 inches tall. Still have it in my cedar chest. :)

Mine was the Henry stuffed dog. I still have my original one.. and I am now 40 years old! LOL!! He has absolutely no face left... run in with my puppy years ago.. Long story.. however, I found one on ebay and bought it also. Now I have 2 of them! They hang out together with my HUGE stuffed animal collection, in my Disney room.

He was black and white and his name was Teddy. And I left him at my cousins house in Long Island when I slept over there and I never got him back. I cried for a week. :sad1:

I didn't really have one. I did carry a strip off a blanket with me for quite a while. Not the whold blanket, just a strip of it. My brother on the other hand(thank goodness he doesn't DIS or I will be in for it) carried a stuff animal with him for years. It was a ratty moneky doll. Ugliest thing in the world. But he drug that thing with him everywhere he could. It had to be stiched up many times over and was so stained and stinky that only he could love him. He doesn't know, but I kept it for him after he moved out and still have it stored up for him.

Mine was a panda with tail. I used to trim his fur, not realizing that it wouldn't grow back like people hair. Oh well. I still have him many (many many) years later. He was with me through illness and night frights. His name is Teddy.

I never had favorite stuffed animals, but I have a doll that was handmade that my mom only let me have when I was sick. I still call her my "sick doll"....never gave her a proper name.

My brother has a teddy bear that he carried around FOREVER. The poor bear is about to lose an eye because it is so threadbare. The bear always had really really short fur, but over the years, the fur came off, so it now only has fur in key areas  You gotta see it :rotfl2: My brother put it away when he had his son. He refuses to even allow his own child to touch this bear. I don't even think my nephew knows it exists. I told my brother he should be ashamed. he said no way, the bear is mine!

Another blanket girl here. I carried it everywhere, and always sucked my thumb. My family called me "Linus". I can remember them asking me "When are you going to stop sucking your thumb and carrying that blanket?" My answer was "When I start Kindergarten." And believe it or not, I did. Cold Turkey!

I have no idea where the blanket is now. Probably long thrown in the trash, since I know my mom would have given it to me if she still had it!

I had a stuffed donkey. I named him Nestor after my favorite Christmas show. I took him everywhere. Before it was over there was more new threads holding him together than he had originally. Then when I was 14 our house burned down and I got a Punky pillow person as a gift. I slept with that pillow and took it to my friends houses if I slept over until I was 21 and it fell completely apart. I actually cried when I had to "let go" of it. It had become such a part of my life and helped comfort me during one of the worst experiences of my life.

My dad bought me a brown bear holding a baby bear when I was born. I named him Mr. Bear (how original) and he was brown, with black eyes and a black nose. Very simple. I still have it!
