Derp Derp! The adventures of the Dapper, Disneybounding Princesses! Updated 7/8x6!!!!

You know, for being my least favourite of all the parks, I sure do LOVE me some Epcot. And when I say least favourite, I mean when I rank them from first to last. I think I would honestly pick the ambience of Epcot over DHS, but DHS has TSM, ToT, Beauty and the Beast, and Fantasmic, and that beats the loveliness of Epcot. Like, I’m so at peace when I’m walking around World Showcase, love it so much.

We perused through Canada pretty quickly, I mean, the gardens are pretty, and they’ve got the best restaurant, but we did a quick walk through the gift shop and made our way onto the United Kingdom.

We noticed something pretty awesome up on top of one of the buildings too!

Heck yes!! And now from a little further away!

I was super happy that a lot of the topiaries were out for our trip, I was sad we were missing the actual festival because of the food and wine style stuff they’re doing, but hey, I’ll take what I can get!

I had discussed with Paige getting a little Duffy to color to help pass the time in World Showcase because we’re children, so we stopped in the UK to start on our childlike tendencies, and we discovered that THEY HAD PERRY’S THAT YOU COULD COLOR!!! Obviously that’s what I got. We sat and colored and talked with the cast member for a bit, he was super friendly and making his Duffy into Wolverine. Like, how awesome of a job would it be to sit there and color all day?!

They also had the Winnie the Pooh topiaries out in the UK, and Paige took a couple pictures of them!

We saw that the characters had started to make appearances for the day, so we jumped in line for a very curious girl! There was a family beside us that the younger girl just KEPT talking to us, and not in the cute way, in the like, socially awkward way, and was just super close to Paige and trying to keep going when Paige was turned away and it was super awkward and annoying, but hey, we’re in Disney, and we were next for Alice!

I seriously only wrote down “Alice: birthday flowers” like, my notes go from Test Track, to that…I was ON THE BALL today. I meant to go back after conversing with Paige to go over character interactions, plus she’ll always hear stuff I don’t and vise versa, BUT I clearly forgot.

World Showcase doesn’t have a whole lot for a trip with Paige and I, I like to explore it, but I know it’s not her favourite and she’d rather be somewhere else, so we made the plan to skip around from character to character and then when we had finished hop over to MK for 5:40! Next up, over to Morocco!

We jumped into their line before they were actually out, and were chatting on the plan of attack for the day, saying that we would go from here over to Belle, and then to Snow White, and then hopefully catch Mulan before our Soarin fast passes ran out. The Dad in front of us laughed saying we pretty much had the same schedule, but warned us that Mulan wasn’t out today! Sad face! Apparently they had been over to wait for her in China and she didn’t show up and then a CM told them she wasn’t going to be greeting today. Boourns. It’s been so long since I’ve met her! Oh well, next time! For now we’d live with the Agrabah royals!

They were both super amazing and super chatty! Aladdin started to ask where we were from, and then was all “Wow, your make up is awesome!” Baha! Hilarious. I had on green on the inner side of the lid, and a purple on the outer/crease to go with the whole Ariel thing, and apparently he liked it! We told them we were from Canada, and that it was seriously cold up there. Aladdin commented that we had all met in the middle, them coming from Agrabah where it was super hot!

They loved our outfits, and Paige showed off the flowers in her hair, Aladdin commented that Flynn had said that the reason Rapunzel wears so many flowers in her hair was because she didn’t shower and needed to smell good! LAWLZ! They were both super amazing, and when I told them that there was a little princess back home that was coming over summer, they were more than happy to give her a little hello!

Yay! These are all for Shannon’s daughter Maddie, many of you are probably also reading her PTR, so you’ve already seen the videos. For those of you who don’t really know, Maddie was super excited to get to meet Tink’s sister Periwinkle, but then Peri was said to be leaving the Nook over Spring/Summer, I told Shannon that I’d be sure to get a video of Peri saying hello, but then Peri left like, the DAY before we got there….boo. So I settled on Princesses! Those are cool too, right?!

They asked who else we were going to see afterwards and when we said a bunch of people, but we’d already seen Alice, they asked if we could do them a favour. Of course we said yes! Aladdin and Jasmine asked us that if we went to go see Mary Poppins later in the day, to ask her to step in time! Baha! I love when the characters do stuff like this, like I did it all the time when I still character served, it kept the fun in the day if it was kind of bland, and then you’d have more stuff to talk about in the break room, bahah! We said we definitely would, thanked them, and were on our way!

I don't blame you for wanting to stay in the Disney bubble. As much as I love HP and enjoyed US when I was there last year, I was still sad because I was in FL and not going to Disney!

I agree that the new TT was underwelming. I see the regular line is a little less closed in than the single rider one. I don't know if I'll ever go through it though since it always seems to be long. I did a modified design and the thing never showed up once on the screens.

Awe man, I guess I did miss Peter Pan on top of the building. I never saw him when I was there but wasn't sure if he wasn't there yet or if I missed him.

Paige and I made the loop back towards France next, thankfully it wasn’t the long one, the long walk was over to Germany! Like seriously, that walk can be insane some days! Lol, luckily, we were there in no time, and didn’t have to wait long for Belle to come out to greet everyone!

Belle was SUPER pretty, and knew that we were some of her princess friends, yay Disneybounding! She loved Paige’s flowers, and asked if we had seen “our” princesses yet, and we said we were headed over to Magic Kingdom later to hang out with them for a bit. She also gave a video for Maddie but something screwed up with my phone, so Paige put it on her camera, and somewhere in there the video got lost!

We tried! And hey, she was awesome! We told her we would see her later at dinner, and were VERY excited to see her new dress up close and in person, and then said our goodbyes. Since we were in France, and had a moment before we had to run over to Germany, I made a pit stop, because, I mean, I can’t not stop!

UGH! I love these things a little too much, it’s a good thing this is the only place they sell them or I’d be drunk and sugar intoxicated every moment of every day. A drunk little cucumber, if you will… heh heh. The CM that sold it to me was super cute too, hello French cutie…thank you for the most heavenly drink on earth! I also gave Paige a couple of sips, it would be wrong if I didn’t!

It was then off to Germany!! We took the walk at a pretty nice pace, not rushing superbly or anything, and by the time we got there I had finished the slush, lol. Snow wasn’t out yet, and the line up for her was oddly placed at the exit of her meet and greet, like, extending into the walkway, awkward. I noted to Paige that once a handler would come out we’d be moved, into the shady spot, but we got in the “line” where it was anyways. I took a quick bathroom break and sure enough, when I got back we had moved over.

Since it took me a second longer to hand off the camera/photopass card to the cast member, Paige was in there chatting away before I did. Snow was super adorable, noticed her birthday button, and wished her a happy one! She asked if she had made her birthday wishes, and if she had wished for her prince! Paige said that she already had a prince and that he was back home! Snow asked if he was busy working in the mines to get her a diamond to which Paige laughed and said “Hopefully!?” Lawls. Snow White thought that was good!

Snow turned around to say hello to me, and the first words out of her mouth were “I’ve met you before!!” I was kinda shocked, not really used to characters recognizing me anymore I guess, lol! I told her that we had met, and probably in November! She said it was good to see me, and I told her I hang around here a lot. Surprisingly enough, she DOES TOO! WHAT, WHAT?! Snow said that she lived here, and asked if I did too and I told her no, but I wish I did.

Snow was also super great in giving a little hello to Maddie as well!

It was absolutely awesome! I was surprised that she remembered me! I confirmed through pictures later that she was the Snow I had met in November, who was perfect, and she was perfect again (although Paige did hear her say “what?” instead of excuse me while we were still in line, and commented that “Princesses don’t say what?!”) I just love it when characters are super chatty even if you are adults, and we were certainly ROCKING it today!

Seriously, I was even just talking to Paige today about how awesome our character greets were all week, we never ended up waiting that long for anything, and hadn’t really had any bad ones, not during dining or meet and greets, it was great. Especially for character buffs like us!

Aladdin and Jasmine had left us with a very important mission before we took off, so we had to of course, make a pit stop over in the United Kingdom! Mary had a line up already, but wasn’t out, so we hopped in it and waited, and surprisingly, because she’s practically perfect, she was LATE (and now that I’m thinking about it, I think that annoying awkward child that I said was in Alice’s line was actually in this line, because she was non stop “how can she be late?!” and being all eck)

We noticed she was the same Mary from our breakfast last time, and weren’t too pumped for that, BUT, she was super talkative. She asked where we were from and when we said Canada, she proclaimed that it must have been a very long umbrella ride She thought our dresses were very pretty, a proper lady always loves dresses. We then said that we had a little message from Aladdin and Jasmine, and by her face, she knew what was coming, and we asked if she would teach us to step in time. She said no. Flat out no. Mary then stated that a proper lady doesn’t make a spectacle….


REALLY?!!? Julie Andrews would’ve done it. Both of us saddingly accepted this and posed for a nice picture, but as we walked away, agreed that it was not very awesome. She got a little snippy when it got asked, like, I get it if it was something she was asked all the time, but I don’t think it is! And it’s a way to keep the fun alive during meet and greets, like, I’m not yelling “Andy’s coming” I didn’t ask you to say supercalifragilisticexpialidocious (dude, did you know spell check knows that word….) backwards, and she blocked us, not acceptable in the “improv” world.

Miffed about that Paige and I decided it was time for some noms, we may not have gotten to step in time, but we were going to get food drunk! The UK fish and chip shop was right there, and we both really liked it last trip, so we stopped there.

It took FOREVER to get the orders in, there were two line ups, and kind of only one til open and it was super confusing and took a while, but in the end we were both walking away with delicious fish and chips and a sweet tea (?) We’re gonna pretend that’s right! Paige had been ahead of me, and said she would get a seat behind the shop, so I walked around the corner until I saw her at a waterside table. This was all fine and dandy, until I noticed how many birds were EVERYWHERE. I don’t care about the ducks, ducks are cute, I’m not going to feed them, but I don’t worry about them. Even the big scary birds don’t worry me too much, it’s the seagulls. I am TERRIFIED of seagulls, and was once attacked by one in Australia while eating fish and chips near a beach. The thing had been pacing on a ledge behind me then swooped in and stole a piece of fish right from my HAND, and bit me in the process. I was so terrified that I threw the food out got on the ferry and left where I was to go back to my hostel. I hate birds, I hate how they fly so close to your face, and they’re just freaking scary.

Story time over, there were seagulls all over the place, and coming towards our table, I stood up really abruptly when one got too close, and Paige asked if we wanted to move, and I could not have gotten out of there FASTER! I’m a little anxious just talking about it now. UGH. We moved over to a curb over in the square where the band plays, in the sun just enjoying life. As always, the food was great, I absolutely love it there, they’re authentic delicious fish and chips and I will always agree to eat there!

Meals eaten bird attack free, we decided it was time for Soarin and then to head to MK! Paige remembered about our coloring things that we hadn’t touched since that morning, and said that she was going to try and see if some kid wanted them, and I said that was probably a good idea. Well, at least I thought it was. We politely asked a bunch of different parents if their kids would like to finish coloring them as we were leaving the park for the day, and every single one of them seemed really put off and weirded out by it, so we ended up just throwing them away. Whatever.

Time to Soar over California!​

With the fast passes we ended up waiting about fifteen minutes until we were all cleared for take off. Unluckily for us, we ended up in front of some REALLY obnoxious kids, like the types that were just the kids you go “Man I really hope my kids don’t turn out like that….” Kind of kids, and they just wouldn’t stop, and wouldn’t stop climbing on the railings and getting far too close to us, and we were pretty happy when they were in a different row than us. Man did we need to get to MK! Soarin was amazing, I nearly cried near the beginning, it’s just so magical. The smells of everything in there are amazing, and it’s just such a great ride for being something not that technical! Love it!

Now it was time to head out of the park! We had a date with our super cute stilts friend, but of course, there was always time for MOAR PICTURES!

Oh man, I can't stand when you get obnoxious kids near you in line and the parents don't do anything. I think the worse time ever for me was on my Honeymoon. No FP back then and we were waiting in line for Peter Pan. The kids behind us kept kicking me the whole time. I tried the turn and glare at the parents but it didn't work. I finally made DH stand behind me so he could get kicked for a while!

ETA: Oh and I forgot to comment on the US HP post from before. I definitely don't plan on going back till after the expansion either. Everything I've read is saying July 2014 for the opening of the new section so I'm thinking of heading back there in January 2015 for a long weekend. We went in January in 2012 and there was no crowds and cool weather. Perfect time to go.

Wow, the first thing I noticed was that was a VERY tanned Belle. I know she's standing beside 2 Canadians (haha) but she still seemed really tanned.

I miss Soarin'. I took my father on it in 2009 and he still talks about it.

Um your Test Track design is the best thing I've ever seen! How awesome would it be if you actually got to ride the car you designed? I'm sure technology will be there one day.

Yeah I was disappointed in the new version. Like the design your own car thing was fun and it is a cool idea but it wasn't working properly when we went on either which frustrates me.

I'm glad you guys moved before getting attacked by seagulls. Birds that are like not tiny are actually pretty terrifying. My sister and I were eating lunch outside near the hospital here the other day and there are A LOT of wild turkeys that hang out there. No one really knows how or why they got there. But one of them literally went UNDERNEATH our chairs and I almost had a panic attack.
