Depressing day at school.

Two depressing events happened at my school today.

Shattered Dreams: Every two years, right before prom/graduation, schools in Texas stage an alcohol-related car crash at our school, using students as the victims. I saw it in 10th grade, and it was sad even though I didn't know any of the people who had "died" or been "injured."
But this year I knew all of them, and it was so sad seeing someone I care about being rushed into an ambulance or put in a body bag and put into the back of a hearse.
Tomorrow there's an assembly about it, where all of the kids talk about how their lives are now that they've been seriously injured, they show video of the cops going to visit the parents and tell them that their child was in a crash, and they show pictures that they took of the cars and the bodies in them. That should be really upsetting since I almost cried when I didn't know the kids.

Bang Bang You're Dead: One of the most intense plays I've ever been a part of. It's about a kid who shoots his classmates, and they're coming back to haunt him. We performed it for the first time today in school. It was far from perfect, but it sent such an amazing message to our schoolmates.
At the end of the play, a few of us got shot and had fake blood on us. We kept the blood on all day at school. It looked so real...I had it dripping from my chest, where my character got shot, all the way down my shirt. The boy who played the shooter had blood on his face where he wiped his hands in the play. Another boy had in on his neck, where his character got shot.

This day definitely gave me a lot to think about and I just felt like sharing it.

Wow that's a lot to think about. The car crash staging sounds really intense. :grouphug:

Aw I'm sorry:hug:

But I have a question, the people in the stage crash actually get injured?

I'm from Iowa and the town I used to live in did the fake car crash every year just for seniors. I've seen the movies that people had taken video cameras to it and it's pretty intense. I think it would be harder for me to see it being my friends then some kids 7 years older then me that I don't even know.

They did a fake car crash for our school just yesterday. And today they did a mock funeral for the kids who "died." One of them is in my Physics class, so it was pretty intense. I would never drink, let alone drink and drive, but the whole thing still really freaked me out. So you're not alone out there! Hope your day gets better!

i hope you fell better! i'm apart of SADD so i don't want to see any teen drinking.
