When booking a package over the phone, does the deposit have to be made immediately? Or will they hold the reservation a few days?

They made me do it immediately, but there have been people that got a courtesy hold for a few days. Not sure how you would do that. But I was told I had to apply the $200 pkg deposit immediately

I had to make the deposit immediately for my August 2010 trip. But I've also read that some people got a few days. I was wondering if Disney changed their policy.

if you're booking your trip through disneyworld.com, log into your account (assuming you have already registered). Once you're logged in, go through pricing out your trip and choosing all your options. Once you get to the end, instead of choosing "book now", on the left side you'll see an option for "save for later". it does not guarantee that the reservation is yours (only a deposit will do that) but you can save all the details of your trip so when you're ready to put your deposit down, just log in and then go to the "My Disney Vacation" tab. click on "saved vacation offers". I belive it will hold your trip for a week. :cheer2: I hope this helps !!!

We were given a week to pay the $200 deposit and two days later we had to buy a new dresser, so my DH called to cancel our trip and got talking to the cm and told her we want to go and will rebook at a later time that our dresser broke and she extended it another week so we didnt lose our ressie. They have always been flexible with us and our deposit. :)

Thanks for the info :goodvibes

The CM I spoke to today told me the due date for the deposit can be extended. I have a reservation on hold for a week while I check my dates at work. As soon as I check, I'll call back to pay the $200.

If you call on the phone and make a ressie 46 day or more a head of your trip you have a week to make the deposit (it used to be 2 weeks last year) and if it is 45 days or less you need to pay not only the deposit but the whole trip in full.:thumbsup2

Every ressie I have made with Disney they have always gave me at least a week to pay my deposit...with the 4/3 package the CM said if I needed a courtesy hold they would give me 6 days...she said that sometimes husbands/wives need to discuss the pricing with each other. Makes a lot of sense.

The week courtsey hold is great. It gives you a chance to finalize things and then make a deposit.
