DEP ----> fireworks help

I know there have been posts about it but I am not turning them up ...

DH and older boys have voted for the 100% new-to-us Electric Parade rather than F! The 2nd F! is just too late for my Mountain time zone boys. *sniff* They are showing only once during our trip: DEP at 8:45 pm, fireworks at 9:25 pm

It is possible to squeeze in both, correct? Though I realize that we might not have ideal viewing of the fireworks.

Can you tell me where to be exactly in DCA so we can escape quickly after the parade? Should we just stay in the hub for the fireworks or try to get onto Main Street?

Any advice much appreciated as always!

I'd like to add that I really prefer watching the fireworks from Main St, rather than right in front of the castle. We grab a spot in the street, somewhere near the Candy Palace or Coke Corner and get the full effects all around us.
You won't be as packed in like sardines, and you can make a quick escape from the park.

We followed Dangermouse's trifecta tips a couple weeks ago (1st two parts) and it worked perfectly... we did have to tell a couple cms that we were trying to "meet our group" in a couple places where we were going against the flow of traffic in order to get closer to the hub--on the left side for the fireworks... one of the cms suggested it!

It will be very tight.... Watch the Electric Light Parade from very close to DCA Entrance, get a spot 30 minutes or so before it starts. Make sure you already have a park hopping handstamp. As soon as the parade has gone past go straight across to DL (there will be a crowd!) and watch the fireworks from Main St. As others have said I wouldn't bother trying to get down to the Hub.

By "hub" I actually meant the "esplanade". Every time I think I have the lingo down I prove that I do not ...

Getting the hand stamp in advance is great advice which never would have occurred to me.

We will be attempting the trifecta, by Dangermouse's directions on our first night. We've got two nights, our first and our last, that we can catch these on. I figure if we can get them in the first night, great! If we fail, we'll have another shot at it the last night! But with the way they can cancel fireworks, I want to try!

Jen, sounds like we are destined to see each other on June 1! (I am also the one concerned about walking back to Hojos late that night.)
