Dentist anxieties

There is nothing worse in this world IMO than a trip to the dentist. However over the past few days I've had just an awful toothache.

I'm so nervous as what it could be. I also don't want to pay out the wazoo either. (I do have insurance)

Anyways, my appointment is in just over an hour and while I'm happy to be getting relief, I'm just a nervous wreck as to what they will find.

I had awful dentist anxiety as a kid, but I blame a BAD DENTIST for all of that. the man and his daughter ran the practice and they were both sadists, I swear. It was so bad that I used to hide the appointment reminder cards that would arrive in the mail. When I needed my very first filling, the didn't give me "laughing gas" or any novacaine...just drilled away. I was so terrified that I refused to open my mouth (I was 9) and the dentists THREATENED me, saying if I didn't open my "d***" mouth RIGHT NOW, she'd make my mom leave the room.

Years later, I started going to a new dentists. Super nice guy. Helped alleviate SOO much stress. I almost looked forward to ourt visits..almost. He even pulled my first tooth, and made it so less traumatic.
