I read a testimonial on MouseSavers that one reader got a $98 per night rate at the Poly last year. Is that normal to get a rate that low during Value season?
That could be when they were remodeling one of the resorts (maybe CBR?) and they had to put people with ressies at that resort wherever they had room and so may have honored the price they had at the moderate, but I have never heard anyone getting that low a rate at the Poly on a room only or AP rate code.
I can tell you that Florida Residents get a pretty good rate, and combined with value season at the Deluxes you could expect to get a great rate. The best we have gotten at the Boardwalk was $174 a night -- this was two summers ago. Of course the lowest price Deluxe will be the Wilderness Lodge and Animal Kingdom Lodge. We can usually get them during value season with Fl. Resident discount at $109 a night.
But to get the Polynesian at $98 a night I would most definitely agree with hulabird when they said that those guests might have been relocated from a moderate resort for remodeling. Or maybe that is a cast members rate!
I'm fairly certain that was because of a relocation. In 2002 DW and I were booked at CBR in a King bed room for $99/night. When they closed CBR to redo the food areas we got upgraded to the Poly for onl $105/night. I have never seen rates that low for the Poly. Do not expect to get any discount like that. Unfortunately, we got spoiled at the Poly and will probably have to suck up the higher rate on our next trip.
