Deluxe plan and kids

Given the very considerable difference between the cost for an adult and a child dining plan, I would say definitely not at any TS restaurant.

The information in the link above has never been confirmed by Disney. The plan brochures still states that children must order from the children's menu. There have been many recent reports stating otherwise, but recognize that no official change has been announced.

Since it is not a published benefit, YMMV, but last month my DS9 was able to order off of the adult menu at both Coral Reef and Hollywood Brown Derby on the Deluxe Dining Plan. I suggest asking your server before you order whether it is allowed. Both servers told us it is allowed at all restaurants but you would be best to ask at each restaurant, just in case.

The computers in the restaurant cannot distinguish between adult and kids coupons on the deluxe plan, so if you order 4 adults meals for 2 adults and 2 kids, it won't make a difference to your plan (4 credits will still be taken off.)

You pay the same price per point, so yes. As someone who works in a Disney restaurant, I can confirm this. What KateP85 said is also true.

Yes, but this has always been the case. The server has always enforced the policy in the past, never the computer.

Well, I guess that's at the discretion of the server. But if you say, "well then we'll use 4 adult meal credits" the computer won't know the difference, you'll still have 4 deluxe credits removed.

In the past, servers would not allow you do redeem more credits than people on the plan in each category. So, they'd make you pay out of pocket for the additional meals, not allow you to redeem credits. Again, many people have reported success recently, but the printed terms have not changed.

The credits are no different. All deluxe credits are the same, whether they are child credits or adult credits. The GUEST pays less for the children. The restaurant is reimbursed the same amount whether it is an adult doing the ordering or a child.

However, Disney used to have the servers police who ordered what. If you were a child under 10 on the dining plan, you were supposed to order from the children's menu.

Although it has been "unofficially" released to the public that Disney will no longer require servers to do so, Disney's public literature on the dining plan does not say that. It still says children must order from the children's menu. So it's now up to the restaurant (and in some cases it may depend on your server) whether it will accept children on DXDP ordering from the adult menu.
