Deluxe Oceanview Inn versus 1BR at Vero (or other resorts)

There is a great code out there for the Vero Beach Resort!

I am debating between staying at the deluxe oceanview inn room versus the 1BR.

Pros of Deluxe Inn Oceanview Room:
> $43 cheaper
> View of Ocean

Pros of the 1 Bedroom:
> Own kitchen
> Separate living area that kids can sleep in
> Sounds like a better bath with a whirlpool tub?
> Sounds like a better balcony.

What would you do? We have a 9 month old and a 27 month old.

Also, would you recommend the first floor, or a higher floor?

With two little ones, I'd definitely opt for the one bedroom unit. In addition to the extra space (think separate room for naps and two TVs, one with a VCR), you forgot to mention that the one bedroom units include a washer & dryer right in the room! That means less to pack and since little people seem to need a lot of stuff, less to pack is good, right???

Ask for an upper floor with a view of the ocean. (There are elevators in each of the villa buildings if you are worried about your stoller). Ocean views from the villas are very limited, so you can't count on it. However, if you are on a higher floor, you might luck out with at least a partial ocean view. We did - our balcony faced one of the other villa buildings, but we could see the ocean off to the left.

The ocean view inn rooms are nice, but if you plan to be there for more than a day or two, I really think you'll appreciate the extra space and amenities of the one bedroom. None of the villas are very far from the main building or pool.

First of all, what code are you talking about, if you don't mind me asking??

Here's my opinion-we have been to Vero several times and have always stayed in an Ocean View room. The first time we went our daughter was 1 and son was 4.

We just found it convenient to be in the main inn because we could just run downstairs to eat or run down to the gift shop to grab some milk or something.

We also couldn't be without the ocean view and we didn't want to chance not getting it in one of the villas.

The other thing that was important to us at the time was that the beds were all in the same room-we didn't want our kids sleeping out in the living room-yes, we could have each slept with a child-one in the main br and one out in the living area but we didn't want to do that either.

We have always stayed on the second floor and have found it very convenient to the lobby.

This is just my opinion. You have to decide what is best for you and I'm sure you will get replies favoring both the villas and the inn. In the inn you get a fridge-about 4 ft tall, a toaster, microwave. You don't get the washer and dryer but they do have them up on the 4th floor.

The code is VDV - the best of the beach. It ends up being about 30% off rack rate. It is from 4/27/03 thru 06/04/03.

I am definitely up in the air about which way to go! The one good thing is...I don't think there is a bad decision!

I would go with the 1 bedroom, your kids are young. My kids are older and do not like sleeping on a pull-out sofa. Whenever we go to Vero we get an Inn room. I like the fact that it is the main building. We don't stay beyond 3 or 4 nights so having a kitchen isn't all that important to us. I also enjoy having an ocean view room. All the rooms are wonderful so it really doesn't matter where you stay!!
