Deluxe lovers.. Would you ever stay at a value resort if you can no longer..

I own DVC at both BLT and BWV. But I have to tell you. I have no problem whatsoever staying at Pop. And I'm booked for a night at AoA in Dec...and I'm really looking forward to it.
I actually like the values. I like the food courts a lot and miss them when staying DVC.

Normally when I go to Disneyland I always stay at the grand Californian, I love it for all of its amenities. When I decided to take my first trip to disneyworld I somehow convinced myself that staying at the pop would be okay since staying 7 days at a deluxe was not doable especially when you factor in airfare. After one night of tossing and turning I woke up first thing in the morning and called Disney and booked a mod. I personally can't stand the loud looks of the values, they make me sick to my stomach when I look at them. And as someone else said they look like a motel 6 with giant statues everywhere. So no I would never do a value.

If we cant stay deluxe, we stay offsite. I'm just not a fan of small hotel rooms unless I'm staying alone. Honestly, I don't even really like staying deluxe because I like my own bedroom (I'm a super light sleeper) and extra bathrooms.

We stayed one time in a value, ASMo. Will try to never do it again. Did not like that the bus stop is in the sun and you stand in a chain link fence area so you cannot sit down while waiting for the bus (think DHS, but they have a cover). Did not like that security stands in the QS area at the hotel (or at least they were there on my trip!) Oh yeah, and they ruined my luggage that I had in hold upon check out. Luckily, I was going off to see family and didn't pick up my luggage with the intention of flying that day because my stuff would've gone in a trash bag. The hotel manager did drive out to my relative's house in Orlando the next day to drop off a "similar" luggage piece at no cost, but like I said if I had been flying home - I would have been screwed. I say lets leave those value resorts to all the kids on field trips.

I think that's its sad that Disney thinks it's an upgrade to put shading at the bus stops depending on what level you stay at. At least they give everyone a fridge now. I have to say compared to other hotels, I think Disney is just lacking in general, but l love staying onsite so I will overlook it all.

I don't think a lot of non Disney hotel as cheap as ASM would do anything like that.... I love ASM :cloud9::wizard:

We have a family of 6, and sometimes we travel with a lot of extended family. Our 1st trip was to ASMo, and the kids(only 2 at that time) had a great time but it is so small, could not ever do it again. We actually prefer FW cabins when staying onsite for privacy, room, and a full kitchen. We dont mind cooking, eating out too much makes me sick. We have also stayed off site several times. We can get a 2 bedroom condo style for $80 a night. Its nice but NOT disney. BUT we still have an awesome time. Hubby and I going by ourselves for 25th anniversary so we are weighing our options. We spend a lot of time in the room, we hit the park at opening and are done by 3-4,dont park hop and hubby doesnt do the fireworks. Most likely will stay at a mod or try pop with free dining this winter(hopefully) do whatever it takes to get to the world. Everyone has different preferences for different reasons. but hands down you cant beat disney service!!!!!!!

Just have to say that you copied our touring style
We have a younger child and get so much done...then we can enjoy naps-pool-nice dinner in the evening. I have no desire to worry about fireworks unless I can watch them from our hotel.

I also just saw a post on the Poly thread about the torrential rain...My first thought was "at least they are at a nice resort with larger rooms." While many people would stay at a value...being bound in a tiny room by the weather would stink IMHO

The one and only time we stayed at a deluxe, we were soooo disappointed and felt like we had wasted oodles of money. We missed the food courts and the more laid back feeling. POR is our hands down favorite. Unless I got some crazy good rate, we'll never spend the $$ on a deluxe again.

We loved POP but need bigger beds, which is why the value resorts don't work for us.
