Deluxe kind of girl considering Pop Century. Thoughts?

We normally stay at moderates or even occasionally the deluxes, but decided to try Pop for 4 nights last May. I was pleasantly surprised...just be prepared:
- the landscaping/decor aren't as classy as the other hotels (more fun, and that can be a nice change)
- the rooms are smaller. I was surprised when I opened the door and the foot of the bed was only about 2 ft. away

Get over that and you'll be fine. My 2 yr old son LOVED the pool, in fact just yest.out of the blue he said "Remember that pool we played in with the water fountains? That was fun!", and I didn't think he remembered much of our trips.

Its always nice to try new places, so go for it and don't worry about it.

Gem,

I'd previously only stayed at Poly, CR, and both side of POR. I was not expecting to be impressed with Pop but I was. It's very fun, bright (the little guy will love all the icons, I think) and the pools were nice. The only thing I missed was the full service restaurant, but honestly, I did prefer to eat at Epcot so it wasn't like I couldn't live with out it.

I've never stayed at the deluxe resorts, but have visited a lot of them. We've only stayed value at this point. This next trip financially we can afford to stay where we want (not any room, though), and I really want to stay at the Contemporary, but I know how much my children love the value resorts. So, I'm trying to decide the opposite - is it worth it to stay deluxe when the values are so great.

The theming is more geared towards children, but still fun for the adults. We visited the Grand Floridian in the middle of the day. We didn't see any children, only adults who were not dressed for a day at Magic Kingdom. So, I felt out of place there with my kids. All of the value resorts are very relaxed and fun.

I would love to visit the Motel 6 that can be compared to Pop. I would not hesitate to stay at Pop again. I think we liked Movies a bit better, but you will not feel like you are being cheated out of Disney magic at all. You might even feel like you even got a little extra.

I do not know what your budget will permit, but perhaps you could rent points from a DVC member for a studio at the Boardwalk or Beachclub - those are pretty deluxe places!
